Volume 1 – Prepare yourself for the
toughest battle of your life.
I will start off by giving you a peek into my
background and a bit of the back story in my endeavor to
achieve a longtime goal of working within the NASCAR
industry.
Folks let me start by saying this industry is
tough and the weak will not survive. So (no offense to the
female gender it applies to both) MAN UP, it is gonna be a
bumpy ride.
I have worked with entertainment agencies,
media outlets, and business development for the past eight
years. I am NO ROOKIE to business but NASCAR will break you
down and humble even the salty veteran. Your Heart must be
true, and you must be willing to lay everything on the
line. Make all of the sacrifices and be able to handle
defeat like a champion.
I started my search about four years ago. I
began working toward learning about the movers and shakers
in NASCAR, while continuing to work my full time job, and
taking every opportunity to learn aspects of different
fields that would increase my marketability. I cannot
stress enough how competitive this industry is. Drivers,
PR, Marketing, any position for any team, there are at least
500 resumes received by hiring managers each day.
Commitment to your goal, unwavering strength of character,
nerves of steel, and a positive attitude are all very
important to someone interested in obtaining a position
within the industry and family of NASCAR.
Over the next few months I will be
contributing to this Blog and taking all of my readers along
with me in my endeavors to obtain a position. We will
suffer wins and defeats together and in the end we can
celebrate together a position within a company or team that
works in support of making this sport and way of life the
ultimate fan experience.
So reach up and pull those seatbelts tight
one last time, ladies and gentleman, let’s go hit the NASCAR
pavement and talk to some folks about a job.
