Sean Corr Ready; Empire Racing To Conquer Short Track Debut

SALEM, Indiana (April 28, 2011) – – Sean Corr will make his 13th career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start on Sunday at Salem (Ind.) Speedway but the Goshen, New York native will make inaugural short track debut in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200.

Sitting eighth in the championship standings entering the third race of the 2011 season, Corr knows that improving on his 15th and 16th place finishes at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway respectively open the door for a climb towards their championship chase.

Before Corr can even think about his dream of a championship, he must first conquer the tricky and demanding Salem (Ind.) Speedway. The short track that resembles both Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and Darlington (S.C.) Raceway all-in-one, Corr looks to complete all 200 laps but more importantly score a top-10 finish.

“I’m excited and a little nervous all at the same time,” said Corr. “This is a new challenge for me but I’m pretty optimistic about it. I have a great team behind me and we’ve adequately prepared ourselves for this race. I’m entering the weekend with an open mind but itching for a great result.”

Leading Corr this weekend will be crew chief Howard Bixman, the ARCA guru who took over the lead role at Talladega. In their first race together, the combo qualified 19th and drafted their way into the top-five before being shuffled out of the draft in the late stages which ultimately resulted in a 16th place finish.

“We’re getting more acquainted,” said Corr. “Howard and I made some great strides at Talladega. We tested the short track car this week which only further enhanced our communication. I’m pleased with the direction we’re going and hope we can show how championship worthy our Empire Racing team is this weekend.”

Recently, Empire Racing and BoomText officially announced the “Hard Corr Fans” program powered by BoomText, a mobile marketing campaign which allows fans to pledge towards becoming an official member of the Empire Racing team – not to mention helping three of Corr’s personal charities. To join the campaign, fans just simply have to text the word “CORR” to 411247 where they will receive an automated safe-secured link to join the “Hard Corr Fans” team. The activation of the project continues this weekend at Salem.

The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 (200 laps / 111 miles) is the third of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 86th ARCA race held at Salem Speedway is a two day show.
