Harraka & Wauters Motorsports Team with ‘Send A Soldier to The Rock’

‘Historic Rockingham Speedway to host first ever NCWTS event’

Rockingham, North Carolina (April 9, 2012)-[media-credit name=”rockinghamspeedway.com” align=”alignright” width=”281″][/media-credit] NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Paulie Harraka and team Wauters Motorsports No. 5 Ford F-150 will adorn the design for the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Rockingham Speedway Sunday, April 15, 2012.

In advance of the Sunday, April 15 Good Sam Roadside Assistance 200 presented by Cheerwine at Rockingham, fans are encouraged to purchase a $20 general admission ticket for distribution to a soldier at nearby Fort Bragg, N.C., home of the U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations Command.  All tickets purchased will be held at will call for the soldiers and their families.

Rockingham Speedway president Andy Hillenburg announced the initiative, saying, “This idea came directly from the fans. We’ve had a number of people call our ticket office to say that while they couldn’t be in attendance on April 15, they wanted to buy a ticket to support the event. We kicked a few ideas around, and decided to direct all that good will toward the men and women of the United States military.”

“The Armed Forces of the United States of America work tirelessly to protect our nation, our freedoms, and us as individuals,” Paulie Harraka said. “With Fort Bragg so close to Rockingham, we want to honor the men and women of the Army and think that dedicating the truck’s livery to them is a fitting way for us to say, on behalf of our team and our partners, a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to those who serve or have served.”

Fans interested in contributing to the “Send A Solider To The Rock” program are encouraged to call the Rockingham Speedway ticket office at (910) 205-.8800, or visit online at www.rockinghamspeedway.com

Rockingham Speedway has rich history of NASCAR racing from 1965 to 2004 but the 1-mile speedway has never hosted a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event.  That has changed and ‘The Rock’ will host the inaugural running of the Good Sam Road Side Assistance 200 presented by Cheerwine event Sunday, April 15, 2012.

“The Rock is one of the most historic tracks in our sport, and I really can’t wait to get there,” Harraka said. “We tested the track back in December, and I can tell you firsthand that it’s tight and bumpy, which should make for some awesome racing. It’s exactly the type of track that these trucks were built for. Hopefully, we can shake the black cloud that’s been following us and have a good day and a solid finish there.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Rockingham Speedway is slated for Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 1:00 pm.  Practice for the Camping World Trucks is scheduled on both Friday, April 13th and Saturday, April 14th. Qualifying for the series will begin at 3:35pm on Saturday, April 14, 2012.

SPEED will provide live televised coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event Sunday, April 13, 2012 at 12:30 pm with MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio broadcasting live beginning at 12:45pm.
