CASSILL BACK AT BRISTOL

BRISTOL, Tenn. – It’s time to go back to Bristol, where on-track fireworks are a virtual certainty.

One of the world’s fastest half-mile race tracks will host the Nationwide Series for Friday night’s Food City 300, and Landon Cassill, driving the Flex Seal Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, will be starting his 11th race at the speedway.

Cassill has participated in seven Sprint Cup and three Nationwide races at Bristol Motor Speedway. He knows the ins and outs of the old track well.

“Bristol is an animal of a different species,” Cassill said. “There are hundreds of half-mile tracks around the country, but none of them are like Bristol. It’s very fast, and you can get in trouble there quickly. You have to be on the alert.”

Cassill is in 11th place in Nationwide driver points entering the 23rd race of the season.

Bristol practice is scheduled at 1:30 and 3 p.m. (ET) Thursday. Qualifying is set for 3:40 p.m. Friday, with the race to follow at 7:30.
