Turner Scott Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series News & Notes:
Texas Motor Speedway II

Cameron Hayley
No. 30 Cabinets By Hayley Silverado
Texas Motor Speedway – WinStar World Casino & Resort 350
October 31, 2014

Texas Debut…Making his third-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start this weekend, Cameron Hayley will be behind the wheel of the No. 30 Cabinets by Hayley Chevrolet Silverado for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) at Texas Motor Speedway. The 18-year-old Canada native will make his first-career start at the 1.5-mile Fort Worth, Texas track on Friday night during the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350.

Back On Board…Supporting Hayley throught his three NCWTS races this season, Cabinets by Hayley is the premier manufacturer of metal garage and storage cabinets in Canada, coast to coast. Formed in 1978, Hayley Industrial Electronics Ltd. produced high-powered, uninterruptible power supply units for heavy-duty applications. After nearly 30 years of high-standard systems in the industrial field, Hayley formed Cabinets by Hayley to service the residential market. Now, Cabinets by Hayley offers a full line of metal storage cabinets for the people that want the best in quality and appearance for their storage needs. New Hampshire Recap…Having only competed at the one-mile New England track in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE), the 18-year-old showed pure talent as he made his way around the loop for the first time in a truck, having to adjust not only to the truck’s handling, but also to the radial tires that the NCWTS uses rather than the bias ply tires that the NKNPSE driver is accustomed to. Hayley used the weekend’s three practice sessions to get reacquainted with the track, laying down impressive top-10 speeds in each session. In his first attempt at NASCAR’s knockout qualifying on an oval, Hayley advanced the Cabinets by Hayley Chevy to the final round of qualifying, ultimately scoring a second-place, front-row starting spot for his Turner Scott Motorsports team. As the green flag waved for a packed New Hampshire crowd, Hayley settled into the top five and began running the fastest lap times on the track. Running in the top-10 for the majority of the race, Haley survived three late cautions towards the end of the race, ultimately crossing the finish line in the sixth position.

The WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 can be seen live on Friday, October 31 beginning at 8:00 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1. Cameron Hayley on Racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the Cabinets by Hayley Silverado on Friday night in Texas. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been behind the wheel of a racecar, so I’m really looking forward to practice on Thursday afternoon. It will be my first time at Texas, so I’m going to rely on my TSM teammates and try and soak in as much information as I can from them. [Crew chief] Shannon [Rursch] and the guys have worked really hard to prepare a great truck for me; I can’t wait to race under the lights on Friday night.”

Previous Race Recap…With two top fives and an average finish of 3.5 at Martinsville Speedway, Kennedy came to the Virginia track with his eyes on the prestigious grandfather clock. However, Kennedy battled the handling of his Heater.com Silverado early in the Kroger 200 before late-race contact caused damage to the No. 31 Chevrolet, costing precious track position at the end of the event and resulting in a 16th-place finish.

Ben Kennedy on Texas Motor Speedway:

“I feel really good about my chances at Texas Motor Speedway. We haven’t had a whole lot of good luck in the last two races, but I think that we’re going to turn that around this week. Our guys have been working hard to build me a brand new truck, and I know it performed really well at the wind tunnel when they tested it. Turner Scott Motorsports is always really strong on the intermediate tracks, so I’m hoping to get our season back on track in these final three races.”

Tayler Malsam on Racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“I’m pumped to get to Texas this weekend. I really like this track, and after our awesome run at Talladega, I’m ready to get this team a win. We had a decent run in our last race at Texas, but fuel strategy kind of put everyone in the same boat, so no one really got the finish they had hoped for. My crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. has won here before and really knows the ins and outs of this track, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish this time around.”
