ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Phoenix

·         Trevor Bayne makes his 10th NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday afternoon. In nine previous starts at the one-mile oval, Bayne has recorded one top-five finish and five top-10 finishes.

·         Bayne earned his best finish of fourth in the March 2013 event at Phoenix.

·         In 17 career starts on one-mile tracks in the NNS, Bayne has recorded three top-five finishes, 11 top-10 finishes and has an average finish of 11.7.

·         According to NASCAR’s loop data statistics, Bayne ranks eighth in laps run in the top 15 with 1,513. The driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang also ranks 10th in quality passes with an average of 17.2 a race, 12th in average running position (11.5) and 14th in driver rating (90.3).

Special Paint Scheme

·         The No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang will sport the red, white and blue colors of the USO this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. This patriotic paint scheme will also include the name of Medal of Honor recipient Fred Ferguson above the passenger side door of the No. 6 Ford.

The Car

·         Crew chief Chad Norris brings chassis RK-826 to Phoenix International Raceway this weekend. This chassis raced earlier this season at Phoenix, both events at Iowa Speedway and in the fall event at Richmond International Raceway, earning finishes of seventh, ninth, third and 15th, respectively.

Recapping Texas

·         Bayne took the green flag from the second position at Texas Motor Speedway and quickly had the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang out front early in the 200-Lap event. While leading on Lap 48, Bayne lost his right-front tire and hit the outside retaining wall, ending his afternoon early and ultimately scoring a 36th-place finish. With the result, Bayne remains sixth in the NNS championship standings and trails leader Chase Elliott by 129 points.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing at Phoenix:

“I really like racing at Phoenix. It has been a lot of fun to race on the last couple of years and we have been able to run really well there. I’m confident that my crew chief Chad (Norris) and my guys will give me another great AdvoCare Ford Mustang this weekend that will have the same kind of speed it did last weekend in Texas. I’m ready to get going and get these guys the win they deserve.”
Crew Chief Chad Norris on Phoenix:

“Phoenix is a fast track that has a lot of characteristics that you would see on the short-tracks. It will be a challenge this weekend, but I know Trevor will give our AdvoCare Ford a great run and hopefully we’ll be able to have a strong weekend.”
