Tenth Career Start for Korbin Forrister at Kansas

MOORESVILLE, NC – May 6, 2015 After a month long hiatus from racing, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is back in action this week. Korbin Forrister is set to make his tenth career start in the NCWTS Friday night in the Toyota Tundra 250 at the Kansas Speedway behind the wheel of the No. 08 Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery Chevrolet Silverado.

Friday will be Forrister’s second start on a mile-and a half speedway, finishing in the top-twenty at his first speedway race back in February in his home state of Georgia. Korbin is only six points out of tenth in the standings after three of twenty-three races in the 2015 campaign. “I feel we can run near the top-fifteen with the truck we have, it took us a few laps to get up to speed at Atlanta, but I think we can use that experience and pick up Kansas a little quicker.”

“We are bringing the same Tilted Kilt Chevrolet that we ran at Atlanta, it’s a former Turner Motorsports truck. It’s a really good truck, if everything goes good at Kansas, it will be our primary speedway truck for the year,” said Forrister.

It’s been four weeks since the NCWTS last raced at the Martinsville Speedway but Korbin has kept busy both on and off the track, “I did some dirt racing while we were off and we ran really good. We had a little incident racing for third that messed up my right front but we still ended up fifth, we had the car to beat before that. It was a pretty good night.”

Korbin also moved to the Mooresville, NC area to be able to spend time in the race shop and learn more of the inner-workings of the trucks in comparison to the late models he has raced on dirt the last few years. “I’ve been hanging around at the shop, getting to know the guys better and working on the trucks and stuff the last couple weeks.”

“We had some pretty good time off to prepare the trucks,” concluded Forrister. “I hope everything goes good these next couple weeks because after that things are going to get busy. We are going to try to save our stuff and get the best finish we can each week. We don’t have the resources the big teams have to be fixing wrecked trucks so we need to take care of them.”

The Toyota Tundra 250 is the 339th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team, a streak that dates back to 2001.

Practice for the Toyota Tundra 250 will be Thursday, May 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Friday, May 8th qualifying will begin at 3:45 p.m. and the green flag will fly on the Toyota Tundra 250 at 7:30 p.m. Central time. The race will be shown live on FOX Sports 1 and will also be broadcast via the Motor Racing Network and on SIRIUSXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
