AUSTIN DILLON QUOTE:
What do you think about racing at Bristol Motor Speedway?
“Man, they can’t mess Bristol Motor Speedway up, truthfully. Bristol is Bristol and it doesn’t matter what lane you are in it is good racing. I enjoy going there. Bristol is just a hardcore track where you need some drivability that you have built into the car mechanically. I look forward to Bristol each year. That time of year is always fun, I think. It is what racing is all about. The temperatures are fun, it’s not too hot, and it’s just a good time to be in Tennessee.”

DANIEL HEMRIC QUOTES:
As a former short-track racer, how excited are you to get to Bristol Motor Speedway for the first time in a Cup Series car?
“I am pumped to get to Bristol Motor Speedway. That will be one of the longest races of my life – from what everyone tells me. With this new package in place, we’re going to be extremely fast. I feel like the lap times are going to be much faster than they were in the past. There is just a little bit of an unknown going into the weekend. I think that will make tire fall-off worse than what we’ve had there in the past, because of what we’re asking out of the tires. The racetrack could get even wider quicker. You always have the variable of how much they spray the bottom groove with the traction compound and how long that lasts. With the corner speeds being so fast, that compound may give up even quicker. There will be a lot going on, but it will be awesome to experience Bristol as a Cup Series driver with Caterpillar and Bass Pro Shops on the side of the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.”

You have had some strong runs at Bristol Motor Speedway in the Xfinity and Truck Series. Can that relate to the Cup Series this weekend?
“I have always loved going to Bristol Motor Speedway. We had a right rear wheel issue late in the race last August in the Xfinity Series race, but someone told me we averaged a fifth-place finish up until that point. I like Bristol and feel like I have always had a pretty good idea about what I need out of the car balance-wise. When we get there this weekend, hopefully we can tune on it and keep up with it as the race goes.”

Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Bristol Motor Speedway … In 100 Series starts at the half-mile speedway, RCR has captured eight victories with drivers Kevin Harvick (2000, 2001, 2003 and 2005), Jeff Green (2002), Clint Bowyer (2008) Elliott Sadler (2012), and Austin Dillon (2016). The Welcome, North Carolina, organization has completed 26,007 laps of the 27,121 (95.9 percent) that they have competed. RCR has accumulated five pole awards, 34 top-five and 58 top-10 finishes, led 1,856 laps and averages a starting position of 9.4 and finishing position of 11.9.

Texas Review … Tyler Reddick secured his third-consecutive top-five finish when he placed second during last weekend’s Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. Kaz Grala, in his first of select starts for RCR this year, had been running in the top 12 for the majority of the race but a late race brush with the wall relegated him to an 18th place finish.

Dash 4 Cash … The NASCAR Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash is back. The top-four finishing Xfinity Series regulars from Texas Motor Speedway will compete for a $100,000 bonus at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend. Tyler Reddick qualified for this segment of Dash 4 Cash with his second-place finish at Texas.

TYLER REDDICK QUOTES:
You had two top-10 finishes at Bristol Motor Speedway last year. Do you enjoy racing there or do you find it mentally tough?
“I loved going to Bristol Motor Speedway growing up to watch races. I still enjoy watching races there. For me as a driver though, it’s one of my most challenging tracks. Last year, I finished well but those races are just so tough. Hopefully, this year, my crew chief Randall Burnett and the team can help me have a better balance throughout the weekend. It’s tough because if your car isn’t great at Bristol, you can struggle a lot with the constant traffic you’re in while racing around . You really have no time to recover if you make a mistake, especially since you spend more time in the corners of the track rather than the straightaways. If things don’t go right, it can make for a long day, but with how we’ve been running lately I have faith our No. 2 Dolly Parton Chevrolet Camaro will be fast right off the hauler.”

How unique is it for you to have Dolly Parton on your Chevrolet Camaro this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway?
“It’s very cool to have Dolly Parton on our No. 2 Camaro at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend. Tennessee is her home state, so it’s a special place to represent her and her many businesses. Dolly is an icon and has had a lot of success in her career, which is something I admire while trying to build my own success in NASCAR. Hopefully, we can have a great run for her in the No. 2 Dolly Parton Chevrolet Camaro while racing at Thunder Valley.”
