We continue with our Sprint Cup Series team previews today by looking at Germain Racing and their outlook for 2013.

After finishing 29th in points in 2012, Germain Racing returns in 2013 with no changes to the team. Casey Mears will return as driver of the No.13 Geico Ford Fusion with crew chief Robert “Bootie” Barker at the helm once again. Geico will remain as sponsor of the No.13 Ford Fusion for 2013 and 2014 after renewing their sponsorship for two years in 2012. Geico has agreed to sponsor the team for at least 20 races in 2013.

As in 2012, look for the team to possibly start and park during races not sponsored by Geico.

While the team should be able to build on 2012, which saw Mears capture the pole at Bristol in August and a high finish of 15th at Sonoma in June, the single car operation will continue to be a mid 20’s race team and any finish in the top-10 or top-15 would be considered a win for them.
