I think this team has a great chance at having a strong run. Everyone at Turner Scott Motorsports is pleased with the effort thus far but there is always room for improvement. ”

Vegas Luck…JustinAllgaier will be making his fifth start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s (LVMS) 1.5-mile oval. Allgaier has had a lot of success in his four previous starts at LVMS. He’s never finished outside the top-10 or qualified outside the top-15. His best LVMS finish to date was second to Turner Scott Motorsports teammate Mark Martin in 2011.

2013 Point Standings…After finishing seventh at Daytona International Speedway and third at Phoenix International Raceway, Allgaier is currently tied with Sam Hornish Jr. for first in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings. Allgaier last led the point standings in 2011.

Driver Rating…Allgaier has the highest average driver rating, 106.3, among drivers who have made four starts at LVMS. Happy Anniversary…Justin and his wife Ashley headed to Las Vegas early to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary on Monday, March 4.

Mobil 1 Driver of the Race…Allgaier won the Mobil 1 Driver of the Race contingency award following his third-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway.

From the Crew Chief, Scott Zipadelli…”Las Vegas [Motor Speedway] is a great race track and I always look forward to racing there. The track loses grip when the sun comes out and the bumps in turns one and two are a little more pronounced each year. We need to qualify up front because it’s hard to pass and traffic has a big affect on the car’s balance and grip level. We also have to keep a close on eye on fuel because there’s often long green flag runs at Las Vegas.”

Justin Allgaier on Las Vegas Motor Speedway

“Las Vegas [Motor Speedway] is a very unique mile-and-a-half. It’s extremely fast, probably one of the fastest tracks we go to. The track is pretty line-sensitive so you have to time your passes well, but it also usually comes down to fuel mileage. It’s going to be a great race and Las Vegas always puts on a good show, and I don’t think this weekend is going to be any different.”

Kyle Larson
No. 32 Clear Men Chevrolet Camaro
Las Vegas Motor Speedway | Sam’s Town 300
March 9, 2013

Las Vegas, Round 1… This weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Sam’s Town 300 will mark Kyle Larson’s first NASCAR national series start on a 1.5-mile oval since his appearance in the Turner Scott Motorsports No. 4 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entry at Homestead-Miami Speedway last fall. In that event, he led 48 laps and was battling for the win before a late race incident knocked him out of contention.

Clear Men on Board… Featured this week on the No. 32 Camaro isCLEAR MEN SCALP THERAPYâ„¢ shampoos. Clear Men products are designed to meet the hair and scalp needs for men, providing dandruff protection and leaving hair feeling and smelling great. Products include: Dry Scalp Hydration, Strong & Full, Clean & Refresh, Cool Sport Mint and Complete Care.

Double Duty, Again… Aside from his Turner Scott Motorsports NNS entry at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Larson will spend two nights racing against some of the toughest drivers on dirt in the World of Outlaws sprint car events on Wednesday and Thursday night at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas. Larson will be behind the wheel of the No. 0 car for Morrie Williams.

“It’s been a little while since my last World of Outlaws race, but I’m ready to get back into the seat. Morrie Williams has great equipment so it should be a great race for us. I haven’t raced on the dirt track here before, but it’s going to be fun,” Larson said.

Looking Back… Returning to the site of his best career NASCAR national series finish to date, Kyle Larson and the No. 32 Turner Scott Motorsports team had confidence and a fast Eveready Camaro on their side last Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway. Laying down fast laps in both practice sessions, Larson and crew chief Trent Owens compiled a good baseline setup for the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Dollar General 200 fueled by Amerigas. However, hot and slick track conditions on race day proved to be a challenge for the 20-year-old driver, as he battled a loose condition for most of the afternoon to come home with a 13th place finish.

This Week’s Camaro… The No. 32 Clear Men Chevy team has chosen to utilize chassis TSM-324 for Larson this weekend at Las Vegas. This specific Camaro will make its first start this weekend after being completely rebuilt in the off-season by crew chief Trent Owens and his crew for the intermediate track program.

Crew Chief Keys… After a strong showing at Phoenix International Raceway last weekend, Trent Owens is encouraged by the improvement of communication between Larson and the team. Though he feels one weekend isn’t enough to find all of their strengths and weaknesses, they’ve made steps in the right direction since Daytona.

“We need to focus on our own goals and expectations first, and then concentrate on getting the car tuned for the racing conditions,” explained Owens. “In my opinion, we prepared the car really well for Phoenix. We were top three or four in both practice sessions and our lap times at the end of the race were as good as anyone. It’s just like any new driver and crew situation though, I’m still learning the amount of adjustments to make according to Kyle’s feedback.”

Kyle Larson on Las Vegas Motor Speedway

“Las Vegas will be a great week of racing for me. Running the World of Outlaws races on Wednesday and Thursday will be pure fun, and then getting back into the Nationwide car on Saturday with Clear Men on board will be my main focus. It’ll be my first time at both tracks so I’m excited to see what kind of challenges they will have.”
