No. 60 WinField Chevrolet Silverado | NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
Texas Motor Speedway Advance | WinStar World Casino 400

Texas Two-Step… Making his second career trip to Texas Motor Speedway with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), Dakoda Armstrong is looking to rebound from a disappointing weekend at Dover International Speedway. Confident in the intermediate program his Turn One Racing team built up in the off-season, Armstrong carries a positive outlook into this weekend’s WinStar World Casino 400. Aside from his lone NCWTS start at the 1.5-mile oval, Armstrong also notched an ARCA Racing Series start in 2010, claiming a 12th place finish. Both experiences at the “Wild Asphalt Circus” have the Indiana-native prepared for a fast-paced showdown on Friday night.

“The races I remember at Texas seemed to be pretty wide open, so we’re going to have to come right out of the gates with good speed in our WinField Silverado,” Armstrong described. “It’s a track that provides a lot of good racing because the racing groove widens out, so hopefully there will be a lot of opportunities for passing. But clean air is also really important with these trucks, which we learned near the end of the race a few weeks ago at Charlotte. If we can get a good qualifying effort in, I think we’ll have a great shot at running up front all night.”

Oklahoma Tornado Relief… Last weekend, the No. 60 Silverado featured logos from Gleaning for the World and the Heart of Virginia Tornado Lifeline on the rear deck lid to help raise awareness, support and donations for the victims of the tornadoes in Oklahoma. Based in team owner Stacy Compton’s hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia, the Heart of Virginia Tornado Lifeline is a partnership between the local ABC affiliate and Gleaning For the World that has been gathering donations and shipping supplies to Oklahoma to help those in need. The team will continue to help spread the word this weekend as the non-profit continues its efforts. For more information on the Heart of Virginia Tornado Lifeline and donations, visit GFTW.org or call 434.993.3600.

This Weekend’s WinField Silverado… Crew Chief Gere Kennon and the No. 60 WinField Chevrolet team have prepared Chassis 21B for the WinStar World Casino 400 at Texas. Purchased from Richard Childress Racing at the start of the season, the team has nominated this chassis as their best for intermediate track competition, already yielding two 12th place finishes this season with Armstrong at Kansas and Charlotte.

Meet and Greet… Armstrong will join his fellow competitors outside Turn 1 of the speedway near hospitality village on Friday from 4:30-5:30 pm for the NCWTS autograph session. Drivers will be signing autographs and greeting Texas Motor Speedway fans before the start of the WinStar World Casino 400.

Broadcast Information… The WinStar World Casino 400 will be broadcast live on SPEED beginning with the NCWTS Setup at 8:30 pm ET, with radio coverage provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio at 9:00 pm ET.

Previous Race Recap: Dover International Speedway… Starting from the 27th position and continuously working to find the right balance in race trim all afternoon, Dakoda Armstrong recovered from missing pit road under the green flag claim a 21st place finish at Dover International Speedway. Crew chief Gere Kennon made a last minute call to come to pit road under yellow with five laps to go, getting the fresh tires Armstrong needed to gain a few valuable positions before the checkered. The finish drops Armstrong unofficially from eighth to 10th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver point standings.

Dakoda Armstrong on Texas Motor Speedway:
“I’m excited that we’re bringing the same truck we had at Charlotte a few weeks ago because we had a top-five finish going there until I had trouble on a late restart. I think it’s one of the fastest trucks we have in our fleet so if we can get the setup right early on, we’ll be in good shape. Momentum is going to be important going into the off weeks we have coming up before Kentucky, and it’ll be a big confidence booster for myself and this team if we can get a good finish and gain back some of the points we lost last weekend.”
