MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 23, 2014) –Â NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie Michael Annett and his Pilot Flying J Chevrolet SS team travel to the oldest, and arguably most prestigious, track on the circuit this weekend, competing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 21st running of the track’s 400-mile race.
The track, opened in 1901, has seen multiple races won by legends such as Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt, Michael Schumacher, and in NASCAR, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Establishing himself among racing’s greats falls on Annett’s to-do list and the 2.5-mile “Brickyard” has already proven to be a sound track for his talents.
In the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the facility in 2012, Annett finished sixth. He followed that up with a ninth-place finish in the same event in 2013. Rolling into Indianapolis after a bye week, Annett and his Tommy Baldwin Racing team are searching for their fifth top-21 finish in seven races.
The race will air live on Sunday, July 27 at 1 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.
SPECIAL GUEST…Â Teddy Kremer, the honorary batboy for the Cincinnati Reds, will enjoy this weekend’s race from the comfort of Michael Annett’s pit box. The No. 7 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet SS will also sport Teddy’s name above the passenger’s side window. Annett was inspired by Kremer, a 31 year-old with Down syndrome, after watching a segment on ESPN’s E:60 television program. Kremer’s story was also told on ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer.
Kremer attended the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona three weeks ago as Annett’s guest, but could not stay for the rain-delayed start.

Our speedway program has improved so much this year and that’s showing in our results. We need to take advantage of what Indy offers, because it certainly plays to one of our strengths.”
