Hard Hat Heroes™ will Serve as the Primary Sponsor on David Starr’s No. 44 Camry at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Mooresville, NC (July 23, 2014) – David Starr is back behind the wheel of the No. 44 Camry this weekend when the NASCAR Nationwide Series races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. On board the No. 44 Camry this weekend is the Hard Hat Heroes™ initiative.

NCCER and Build Your Future’s military recruitment initiative, Hard Hat Heroes™, is committed to helping returning military members make a smooth transition, enabling them to continue to serve the country they love through building America. As a part of the Hard Hat Heroes™ initiative, NCCER and BYF are working with a task force of contractors, owners and other stakeholders to develop a program to assess, train and transition veterans into high-skill, high-wage careers in construction.

“Creating an avenue to connect our returning military with the rewarding careers available through construction is a top priority for NCCER and BYF,” said Don Whyte, President of NCCER.

Starr is looking forward to racing at the historic 2.5-mile rectangular, oval speedway in Indianapolis this weekend. BYF and NCCER have been a partner of Starr’s racing career for years and we are happy to have such a great cause on board the No. 44 Camry this weekend.

“I’m extremely excited to come back to Indianapolis Motor Speedway this year! Ever since I was a little boy I’ve been watching the races at Indy and to have the opportunity to race at the racing capital of the world is very special to me,” said Starr. “I am honored to have NCCER and BYF’s Hard Hat Heroes initiative gracing the hood of my Toyota Camry. It’s such a special, rewarding program for our returning military.”
