Kyle Busch Captures Sixth Truck Series Win of the Season at Chicagoland Speedway

Kyle Busch battled his way to the front after starting near the rear of the field, leading 66 of 150 laps in the Lucas Oil 225, to claim his sixth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race of the season in only eight starts. It’s his 41st career victory in the series and also Busch’s fourth win in five starts at Chicagoland Speedway.

“We had a really fast (No. 51) Dollar General Tundra,” Busch said. “Being in victory lane feels good. Dollar General, all their support, all their racing programs that they put on, is really awesome for us at KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports). We’ll see if we can’t see Erik Jones get a couple of wins here to close out the year.”

Matt Crafton, driver of the No. 88 Splash-FVP/Menards Toyota, finished second, led 14 laps and is the new series points leader, by five points over Johnny Sauter.

“All in all, not a bad night,” Crafton said. “We had a lot of short run speed early, the first two runs. The last run we just tightened it up a little bit too much I think.”

Austin Dillon was third, followed by Tyler Reddick in fourth. This was Reddick’s best finish of the season; his previous best finish was eighth at Dover. Jeb Burton finished fifth followed by  Darrell Wallace Jr. in sixth. Ben Kennedy, Joey Coulter, Joe Nemechek and Bryan Silas finished in seventh through 10th, respectively.

Johnny Sauter finished 14th and is now second in the points standings. Ryan Blaney (-16), Darrell Wallace (-35) and German Quiroga (-59) round out the top five in the standings.

The Camping World Truck Series travels to New Hampshire Motor Speedway next Saturday for the UNOH 175 (1 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 1).
