BACK TO THE BLUEGRASS STATE:Â Elliott Sadler and the No. 11 OneMain Financial team travel back to Sparta, Kentucky this weekend to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Kentucky Speedway. In his Nationwide Series career, Sadler has competed at Kentucky Speedway six times and earned one pole award, three top-five and five top-10 finishes with 118 laps led. He also raced in one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the 1.5-mile track in 2011, where he started fourth and finished sixth.
JUST THE STATS: After 26 races in the 2014 season, Sadler is currently in fourth place in the Nationwide Series driver championship point standings, 51 points back from the lead. The Emporia, Va., native has one win, one pole award, five top-five and 19 top-10 finishes.
LAST RACE: CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY: Sadler qualified in the 13th position for the Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway this past Saturday afternoon. The team worked hard and provided great mid-race adjustments to keep up with the changing track conditions. The pit crew also contributed with multiple fast stops that allowed Sadler to gain numerous positions exiting pit road. Sadler was able to drive the No. 11 OneMain Financial Toyota across the finish line in sixth place.
ELLIOTT SADLER QUOTES: “This weekend we head back to Kentucky Speedway for the final time this year. Statistically, Kentucky is one of my best tracks and I hope to continue the trend and have another great race Saturday afternoon. Last time we were here, we battled with an extremely loose car and we weren’t able to correct the problem until the closing 50 laps. The plan is to use those adjustments and collectively put together a fast race car that can compete for a victory on Saturday. Finishing sixth this past weekend at Chicagoland was a step in the right direction, but with only seven races to go, we need to make some drastic moves quick.”
