Joey Coulter
No. 21 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado

This Week’s GMS Racing’s Chevrolet Silverado at Martinsville Speedway … Joey Coulter will pilot Chassis No. 021 “Slim Shady” in the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway. This Chevrolet Silverado made its first paces with the Jeff Stankiewicz-led team this season at Martinsville Speedway. It has also unloaded two other times including events at Iowa Speedway and more recently at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 21, where the chassis qualified 19th and finished in seventh position. Prior to being in the GMS Racing fleet, Chassis No. 021 spent time at Richard Childress Racing (RCR).

Paperclip History at Martinsville Speedway … This weekend marks Coulter’s second Martinsville Speedway appearance with GMS Racing. In March, the Miami Springs, Fla., driver qualified 18th and finished in 17th-place. Coulter has made seven other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at the .526-mile track. He has earned an average starting position of 18.0 and an average finishing position of 14.1 at the track. In 2012 with Richard Childress Racing, the 24-year-old finished a career-best in third-place at the track.

Come Fly with Me … The No. 21 Chevrolet Silverado team will sport the white, blue and orange colors this weekend at Martinsville Speedway, with Allegiant Travel adorning the hood and quarter panels. The paint scheme was inspired by the Allegiant airline fleet’s scheme. With low-low fares, nonstop flights, all-jet service and premier travel partners, Allegiant provides a complete travel experience with great value without all the hassle.

Testing…Testing…1-2-3! … On Monday, October 13 Coulter tested at Martinsville Speedway with GMS Racing teammates Spencer Gallagher and Brandon Jones to prepare for the Kroger 200.

In the Rearview Mirror: Talladega Superspeedway … Joey Coulter and the Allegiant Travel team ran in the top 10 for the majority of the fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at Talladega Superspeedway on October 18, only losing momentum in the closing laps with a slow middle lane pack which relegated him to a 13th-place finish.

JOEY COULTER QUOTE:

“I am really looking forward to Martinsville Speedway this weekend. GMS Racing tested there just a couple weeks ago and I feel like we learned a lot to bring to the race. Our team has come a long way since the first race at Martinsville Speedway at the beginning of our season. It will be a really good gauge of how far we have really come as a team. I am also looking forward to working with Max Gresham, again, and also working with Brandon Jones for the first time. This should be a great weekend for our No. 21 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado.”

Max Gresham
No. 23 AmWINS Group Inc. Chevrolet Silverado

This Week’s GMS Racing’s Chevrolet Silverado at Martinsville Speedway … Max Gresham will pilot Chassis No. 009 in the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway. Saturday will mark its third appearance in the 2014 season with GMS Racing. At Iowa Speedway, teammate Spencer Gallagher drove this chassis to an eleventh-place result. Most recently, on August 21 Gresham finished 12th at Bristol Motor Speedway. This Chevrolet Silverado has also served as a backup at Martinsville Speedway to the Ryan “Pickle” London-led team. Prior to being in the GMS Racing fleet, Chassis No. 009 spent time at Richard Childress Racing with Brendan Gaughan.

Think Pink® … In commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Gresham will “go pink” for the 200-lap event at Martinsville Speedway. Gresham will run a special pink and white paint scheme in honor of his grandmother, Mary Jane Siggins, who is a breast cancer survivor.

Fourth Season Start … Martinsville Speedway will mark Gresham’s fourth start of the 2014 season with GMS Racing. Gresham will compete in a total of five events in the No. 23 AmWINS Group Inc. Chevrolet Silverado, including the upcoming event at Texas Motor Speedway.

Gresham at NASCAR’s Oldest Active Track … This weekend will mark Gresham’s career-sixth start at the historic speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Gresham twice finished a career-best 11th, at Martinsville in October of 2012 and 2013. With five career starts at Martinsville, Gresham has more starts there than at any other track on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule. Gresham also has one NASCAR K&N Pro Series East start at the short track in 2010 where he finished 17th.

Short-Track Stats … Gresham is not short on experience with race stats on tracks less than one-mile in length. He has nine starts on short tracks in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Additionally, the Milner, Ga., native has earned one win, one pole award, one top-five and four top-10 finishes in nine starts on short tracks in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Racing Series.

In the Rearview Mirror: Bristol Motor Speedway … On August 21 at Bristol Motor Speedway, Max Gresham drove the No. 23 AmWINS Group Inc. Chevrolet Silverado to a 12th-place finish.

Max Gresham Quote:

“I can’t believe it is finally time for me to get back in the No. 23 AmWINS Group Inc. Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing. Martinsville Speedway has been both a good and a bad track for me historically. However, I’m looking forward to the track this year because I’m going back with “Pickle,” (crew chief Ryan London) and the last time I was behind the wheel with him we had a really strong run.

“Spencer (Gallagher) has been having some really strong runs in the No. 23 Chevrolet Silverado, so hopefully I can keep that going this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.”

Brandon Jones
No. 33 Russell Chevrolet Silverado

This GMS Racing’s Chevrolet Silverado at Martinsville Speedway … Brandon Jones will be behind the wheel of chassis No. 061 at Martinsville Speedway. This GMS Racing chassis has also been driven by teammate Spencer Gallagher three times during the 2014 season including events at Martinsville Speedway earlier this year, as well as at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, and at Michigan International Speedway.

GMS Racing Debut … The Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway will mark Brandon Jones’ first of two starts with GMS Racing driving the No. 33 Russell Chevrolet Silverado. Jones has six career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his resume, including two starts at the Martinsville Speedway. In 2014, Jones has made three other NCWTS starts with a series-best finish of fourth at Dover International Speedway in June.

Return to Martinsville Speedway … At 17-years-old, Jones has a solid foundation of Martinsville Speedway. Saturday’s Kroger 200 will mark the Atlanta, Ga., driver’s third career NCWTS start at the track nicknamed the “paper clip.” Jones made his track debut at the historic half-mile on October 26, 2013, finishing 19th, and made his first NCWTS start of 2014 season in March, finishing 15th.

“Just Chilling”… The black and blue colors of Russell, a commercial/industrial refrigeration equipment leader, will adorn Jones’ No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado at Martinsville Speedway. While Jones will need to have a cool temperament on the racetrack for success in the Kroger 200, Russell is the industry leader in commercial refrigeration. Since 1947 Russell has been the industry’s technology leader by introducing new designs and new manufacturing, quality and test procedures. For more information, visit http://russell.htpgusa.com.

2014 Season Review: In addition to three NCWTS starts this season, Jones competed full-time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2014, finishing fourth in the championship point standings and earning his first-career win at Iowa Speedway in Newton in August. Jones made three starts in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Racing Series, collecting three top-five finishes, including two wins and a pole award. Both of his victories in the ARCA Racing Series came on short tracks at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

BRANDON JONES QUOTE:

“I’m looking forward to making my debut with GMS Racing at Martinsville (Speedway) this weekend. With two starts under my belt already at Martinsville, it’s the perfect venue to kick off our relationship. Martinsville Speedway is unlike any other track on the schedule. It’s a place where we can hit the ground running and be competitive right out of the box. I’m confident that Shane (Huffman, crew chief) and everyone at GMS Racing will have a great No. 33 Russell Chevrolet Silverado prepared to hit the racetrack.”
