Bit-O-Honey to Appear on Chris Buescher’s No. 60 Mustang at Texas Motor Speedway

Partnership to Create Buzz with Halloween-Themed Fan Engagement on Social Media

CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2014) – Just in time for Halloween, Chris Buescher’s No. 60 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Mustang will carry the Bit-O-Honey colors this weekend in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Texas Motor Speedway.

“We’re really excited to have Bit-O-Honey on our car this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway,” Buescher said.  “I can’t wait to race in front of my family and friends in this great looking Mustang.  It’s really awesome to see a partner as excited as they are to get involved in racing.  They have tons of cool stuff going on with their Facebook page and social media this week, and I’m hoping we’ll give them something great to talk about on Saturday.”

For a chance to win signed Buescher swag and even a race used visor, fans are encouraged to ‘like’ the Bit-O-Honey Racing Facebook page.  To kick Halloween into high gear, Buescher tested his pumpkin carving skills, crafting his rendition of the Bit-O-Honey bee.  Fans can also share their carved pumpkins or Halloween costumes on social media utilizing the hashtag #CandyofChampions.

“The team at Pearson’s Candy is excited about the opportunity to race this great looking Mustang in the NASCAR Nationwide Series,” said president and CEO Michael Keller.  “We look forward to a great race on Saturday and fully believe Chris will do great things!”

The honey flavored taffy and almond candy was first manufactured in 1924 and is now produced by Pearson Candy Company in Minneapolis.  Bit-O-Honey falls under the Brynwood Partners umbrella, along with another current Roush Fenway partner, Zest.

Established in 1984, Brynwood Partners is a control-oriented, operationally-focused, lower middle market buyout fund that acquires consumer products companies.  The managing partners of Brynwood Partners have extensive operating experience, as CEOs and CFOs of both public and private companies, which allows the firm to acquire both performing and underperforming businesses and corporate orphan brands with or without management teams.

The Prosper, Texas native, who earned his first NNS victory earlier this season, will make his third NNS start at Texas Motor Speedway.  The green flag will drop for 300 miles of racing on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 3:30 pm ET on ESPN2 and MRN.
