CASSILL SHOOTING FOR ANOTHER TOP 10

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – At the end of another season, Landon Cassill is hoping to add another top-10 run to his worksheet in Saturday’s Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The 200-lap race is the season finale for the Nationwide Series and, in fact, will be the last “Nationwide” race. Xfinity will become the series’ title sponsor next year.

“It’s hard to believe the year is almost over,” said Cassill, who also has driven full-time in the Sprint Cup Series this year. “It’s been a busy year, but a fun one. We’ve had a pretty good year on the Nationwide side, and we’re looking to close it out big this week.”

Driving for one of the circuit’s smaller teams, JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, Cassill has had three top-10 finishes this year and is looking to add another Saturday.

He enters the race 12th in Nationwide driver points. He’ll be in the Flex Seal Chevrolet Saturday.

Practice is scheduled at Homestead at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 1:15 p.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 4:30 p.m.
