ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Vegas

·         Reed has competed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) just once in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS), earning an 15th -place finish after starting in the same position and fighting loose conditions the entire race.

·         Reed also has one start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at LVMS in 2012 where he finished 17th after starting the race in the 18th position.

Reed at 1.5 mile tracks

·         Reed’s best finish at a 1.5-mile track came at Kentucky Speedway in September 2014, where he finished 11th.

The Car

·         The No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association team will run a brand new chassis at LVMS this weekend.

·         To help celebrate the American Diabetes Association’s 75th Anniversary in 2015, the No. 16 Ford Mustang will run a special 75th Anniversary logo on the deck lid for the remainder of the season.

Atlanta Recap

·         Reed earned a 16th- place finish Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) in the 163-lap Hisense 250 after a late-race caution caught the team on pit road in the middle of their final green-flag stop.

·         Reed fought tight conditions for most of the race, but began to gain ground after the team made adjustments to the car. The untimely caution during that final pit stop left Reed with little time to continue his march toward the front.

·         Reed is the currently third in the NXS championship standings, just eight points behind teammate Chris Buescher and Ty Dillon, who are tied for first place.

Reed on Las Vegas:

“I’m excited to head out west to race in Vegas this weekend with a new chassis for our Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang. I think we learned a lot about our cars on mile-and-a-half tracks this past weekend in Atlanta and can apply that to this weekend’s race in Vegas. The team is still pumped over our win in Daytona, but we are focused on getting back to running in the top-10 like we did in Daytona. Hopefully lady luck will be on our side this weekend and we put on another great show for the fans in Vegas.”

Barbour on Vegas:

“Even though Vegas is another mile-and-a-half track like Atlanta, our strategy changes significantly. We have to take into account how Vegas’ progressive banking will help the car turn and where we need to help Ryan feel more comfortable maneuvering the track. We proved last weekend we can make the adjustments the car needs to be fast. As long as we keep that same communication going, there’s no reason we can’t be up front fighting for a win at the end of this one.”
