MATT KENSETH, No. 20 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 8th
How was the car in qualifying?
“We were okay the first run – the balance was pretty good and we were a little loose. Then we just could never really get it any better on older tires. On new tires it was pretty good and had a real good lap there. Then we just could never get it like that again.”

Is Martinsville still a daunting track for you?
“It’s like any other track, if you have a car that drives really, really good then it makes your job a lot easier because it’s easier to be patient. If you have good track position it makes all that stuff easier. It’s still not my best track by any means, but it’s so razor edge. It’s so easy to get the car on either side of it and it’s hard to get it to drive good. At Gibbs (Joe Gibbs Racing), it just seems like it’s been a little more forgiving and the circle has been a little bigger. It feels pretty tight this weekend so we need to open that up a little bit so if we do miss it by a little bit we can hang in there.”

CARL EDWARDS, No. 19 ARRIS Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 11th
Do you like Martinsville a little better after having a good run in qualifying?
“I do like Martinsville a little better. That was a lot more fun today than I’ve had in a while here. The ARRIS Camry is really fast. I should have been a little more aggressive the first round of qualifying – I think we would have been maybe seventh or eighth, where Matt (Kenseth) ended up. Definitely more fun and a good time — now I’m excited to go work on race trim. I think 500 laps we’ll have something for them here. Denny (Hamlin) helped me a ton this week too – big time.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 15th

DAVID RAGAN, No. 18 M&M’s Crispy Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 20th
How was the car in practice and qualifying?
“We started off today and just weren’t very good off of the truck. The No. 18 M&M’s Crispy Camry just drove a little different than what I was expecting and there were a couple of different things that I wasn’t used to. It took us a few runs to work through, but we made a lot of progress and great strides. We really just didn’t have the time to get a good qualifying lap in during practice to make adjustments for qualifying so I was disappointed with that start, but it’s going to be a lot of fun to get on the track Sunday in race trim and have some more laps. I feel like we’ll have a great car and a good chance for a win on Sunday – we’ll just have to pass some cars.”
