BROKEN GEAR SIDELINES CASSILL

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Landon Cassill finished 28th in Saturday’s Drive To Stop Diabetes 300 Xfinity Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The finish was a disappointment for Cassill, who ran in the top 15 much of the afternoon before the gear issue sidelined him on the 268th of 300 laps.

“A tough day,” Cassill said. “We were hoping for so much more. The good thing about it is that we had a great car. Everything was humming along until we had the issue.”

Cassill dropped one spot to 18th in the Xfinity driver standings.

Sprint Cup invader Joey Logano won the race, leading from start to finish. Chris Buescher, who finished third, tied Ty Dillon for the point lead.

The series races next at Richmond International Raceway April 24.
