Motorcraft/Quick Lane Team Crew Chief Reacts to New Talladega Qualifying Format

Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion Crew Chief Jeremy Bullins reacted positively to the news that NASCAR has changed the qualifying format for the Geico 500 this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

HARRISBURG, N.C., April 28, 2015 – Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion Crew Chief Jeremy Bullins reacted positively to the news that NASCAR has changed the qualifying format for the Geico 500 this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

Rather than group qualifying, which received some negative reviews after qualifying for the Daytona 500 in February, NASCAR announced that at Talladega it will send cars out two at a time spaced out so that neither gives an aerodynamic advantage to the other.

“I applaud NASCAR for taking the steps to improve the format for superspeedway qualifying,” Bullins said. “We all know that at Daytona and Talladega, the speed of our cars is paramount.  Having the opportunity to show that off again is exciting. Hopefully our Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion is up to the task and we’re looking forward to the new format.”

Qualifying at Talladega will consist of two rounds. The first will determine the 13th through th 43rd starting positions. The top 12 will run in the second round, from slowest to fastest, to determine the pole.
