POOLE HOPES TO FIND THE FAST LANE IN DAYTONA

Brennan Poole returns to the seat of the No. 42 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro for the XFINITY Series’ final superspeedway race of 2015. Through nine starts this season, Poole has one top-10 and five top-15 finishes, with an average start of 16.8 and average finish of 18.6. Poole will compete in the next three XFINITY Series races (Daytona July 4, Kentucky July 10, and New Hampshire July 18). He has one prior ARCA Racing Series start in Daytona, finishing seventh in 2012. Poole made his XFINITY Series superspeedway debut in May at Talladega Superspeedway, finishing 28th after suffering late-race mechanical problems.

WELCOME BACK!

Following an eight-year hiatus, NBC and NBC Sports Network make their return to covering the NASCAR Sprint Cup and XFINITY Series this weekend. NBC Sports Network will have coverage of 15 XFINITY Series races, while NBC will cover the remaining four, including the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November.

MEET BRENNAN

On Saturday, July 4 from 1:15 – 2:00 p.m. EDT, Poole will sign autographs, along with several other XFINITY Series drivers, in the DIS Fan Zone. The session is first come, first serve and fans must have a Fan Zone pass.

Poole will once again carry the DC Solar on-board camera for Saturday’s 250-mile race. Tune into NBC Sports Network for all the action from the Subway Firecracker 250 Powered by Coca-Cola.

A LOOK BACK ON CHICAGOLAND

Following dry days of practice and qualifying, Mother Nature had other plans and persistent rains on Saturday evening forced the postponement of the Owens Corning AttiCat 300 until Sunday afternoon. Poole reported most of the day that his car needed more grip in the center of the turns. The team made slight chassis adjustments to improve the handling of his car and Poole’s pit crew gained spots during each pit stop throughout the 300-mile race. Following the final pit stop, Poole settled into a position just outside of the top 15, ultimately finishing the day in 17th position.

“I really enjoy racing in Daytona. I think we will unload off of the truck really well, and that’s really important at a superspeedway. It’s been a few years since I raced in Daytona in the ARCA Series. I learned a ton in Talladega, and I am confident in my DC Solar team to have a great run this weekend.”

“Daytona is always a chess match. There’s not a lot that we can do during the practice sessions to adjust on the car. How the car comes off of the truck, is pretty much what we will have. It will be important for Brennan to get out in a decent size pack of cars in practice and get used to the draft again. We have made gains since Daytona in February, and I feel like we will have a really good racecar.
