CONCORD, N.C. (January 26,
2005) - Make yourself a reminder on your Post-it Note: the No.
16 National Guard Ford Taurus will have a new associate sponsor
for the 2005 Nextel Cup season. Post-it brand products from the
Office Supplies Division of 3M will take on an associate
sponsorship role through a new partnership with the National
Guard and Roush Racing.
"The Nextel
Cup is a great opportunity to team up with the Post-it brand,"
said Dr. Jack Truong, division vice president, 3M Office
Supplies Division. "This sport is a lot like life today…it is
about being fast-paced to achieve high performance. For a brand
like Post-it...fast, simple, focused…these are qualities that
stick. Because of its unique ability to make life simple, help
people communicate and stay organized, it is a perfect fit."
Driver Greg Biffle recently shared his
interest in the new sponsor during an off-season photo shoot.
"I use Post-it Notes just about every
day in my own office or at home," said Biffle. "I'm excited
about having that bright yellow Post-it logo on the hood of the
National Guard Ford for some races this season. It's a brand
that everyone recognizes, so it should be easy for the race fans
to pick out -- especially when we're running out front."
While Post-it Notes will have associate
logo placement on the No. 16 National Guard Ford for the
majority of the 2005 race season, the familiar yellow logo will
take primary hood placement on a special Post-it Notes paint
scheme for nine races. The Post-it Notes paint scheme holds true
to the National Guard red, white and blue colors but with it's
own Post-it brand identity.
"We are very pleased that Post-it Notes
has chosen to come on board with the National Guard and our
program with Greg Biffle and Roush Racing," said Lieutenant
Colonel Jones, Chief Marketing Officer for the Army National
Guard.
"In addition, the joint-marketing
opportunities that have been created through this partnership as
well as our partnerships with Charter Communications, Subway,
Travelodge, Jackson Hewitt and Labor Ready are extremely
exciting and advantageous for everyone involved. We have a lot
of faith in Greg and the National Guard team at Roush Racing and
look for a successful season with this program both on and off
the track."
