Skinner
wins the Kroger 200
Toyota clinched the
Manufacturer's Title for the second
straight season
Mike Skinner came into
Saturday’s Craftsman Truck Series Kroger
200 at Martinsville Speedway trailing
Ron Hornaday Jr. by 14 points in the
championship standings and left with an
11 point lead after winning Saturday’s
crash filled race. Hornaday finished
third.
With seven laps to go, the race was
red flagged after a crash that involved
at least six drivers. The race was
restarted with three laps to go. Skinner
was able to hold off Jack Sprague for
his fifth win of the season and the 24th
of his Truck Series career.
The race was a rough one. There were
13 cautions flags for 70 laps.
On the final lap a multi-truck crash
involving Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer,
Matt Crafton, and others.
With this win, Toyota clinched the
Manufacturer's Title for the second
straight season. “Winning a second
manufacturer’s championship is a
testament to the outstanding race teams
that Toyota has been associated with in
the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, as
well as the extremely talented Tundra
drivers,” said Jim Aust, vice president
- motorsports, Toyota Motor Sales,
U.S.A., Inc.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is
in Atlanta next Saturday for the
EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200.
