KAHNE HEADS TO THE ALTAR WITH “I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK & LARRY”: UNIVERSAL PICTURES’ COMEDY STARRING ADAM SANDLER TO ADORN HOOD OF NO. 9 AT DAYTONA

STATESVILLE, N.C. (July 3, 2007) – When Kasey Kahne takes the green flag at Daytona on Saturday night, he might be hearing wedding bells along with the sounds of the revving engines.

Kahne will be running a special paint scheme on his Evernham Motorsports Dodge to promote the new Universal Pictures’ comedy starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Jessica Biel, “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.”  The film will be released in theaters on July 20.

In “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”, Sandler and James team as two straight firefighters who stumble down the aisle with the best of intentions.  Through one comic mishap after another, the duo is forced to answer the question, “How far would you go for a friend?”

No. 9 will feature a bright yellow, black and red graphics wrap that showcases flames shooting over the hood and up the sides of the black racecar. The firefighters’ seal will adorn the hood along with the movie title. Additionally, the firefighters’ seal will be located on both sides of the car, along with the title on the quarter panels.

“It’s is always exciting to run a special paint scheme, especially at Daytona under the lights,” said Kahne. “We’ve run some cars with Sandler movies on them in the past, and they’ve always been a big hit. The last movie scheme we ran was in Michigan last year. We were fortunate enough to take that car to victory lane, and hopefully we’ll be able to have the same success this weekend. We had a great run at the Daytona 500 when we finished seventh. Hopefully, we’ll have that same kind of success this time around.”

This is the third time that Evernham Motorsports has partnered with Happy Madison Productions, Sandler and producer Jack Giarraputo .  Previously, Kahne ran special graphics wraps to promote the “The Longest Yard” and “Click”.

“Evernham Motorsports and NASCAR are the perfect partners for promoting a film,” said Giarraputo, producer, Happy Madison Productions.  “Not only does Kasey Kahne’s car provide visibility for the movie among fans in the stands and those watching on television, the involvement with Kasey and Evernham Motorsports attracts new attention for the film.  And, it’s great to go to the races to see the car in action.”

Kahne has seven career starts and one top 10 at Daytona Int’l Speedway, along with an average finish of 21st. His best finish of the season came in the Daytona 500 when he drove his way to a seventh place finish.

About “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”: Adam Sandler and Kevin James team as two straight guys who stumble down the aisle with the best of intentions in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”. Chuck Levine (Sandler) and Larry Valentine (James) are the pride of their fire station: two guy’s guys always side-by-side and willing to do anything for each other. Salt-of-the-earth widower Larry wants just one thing: to protect his family. His buddy Chuck also wants one thing: to enjoy the single life.

Grateful Chuck owes Larry for saving his life in a fire, and Larry calls in that favor big time when civic red tape prevents him from naming his own two kids as his life insurance beneficiaries.  All that Chuck has to do is claim to be Larry’s domestic partner on some city forms. Easy. Nobody will ever know.

But when an overzealous, spot-checking bureaucrat becomes suspicious, the new couple’s arrangement becomes a citywide issue and goes from confidential to front-page news. Forced to improvise as love struck newlyweds, Chuck and Larry must now fumble through a hilarious charade of domestic bliss under one roof. After surviving their mandatory honeymoon and dodging the threat of exposure, the well-intentioned con men discover that sticking together in your time of need is what truly makes a family.
