RICK CRAWFORD – No. 14
Power Stroke Diesel by
International Ford F-150 –
(involved in accident on lap
11) – (finished 30th,
qualified 16th)
“It was my mistake, drove it
in under the 22 truck (Ryan
Matthews) trying to advance
my position. And it’s slick
down at the bottom and we
should have seen that in
qualifying. It was slick
and slid out from under me
and did a lot of damage
early in the race to the
Ford Power Stroke Diesel by
International. I hate that
this happened to these
guys.”
YOU THINK YOU CAN GET THE
TRUCK BACK OUT? “Yes, we’re
Built Ford Tough here
tonight at the Built Ford
Tough 225. The guys will do
the best job they can, well
be back.”
PETER SHEPHERD – No. 50
Northern Tool + Equipment
Ford F-150 – (involved in
accident with No. 59 –Terry
Cook, Toyota on lap 49) –
(finished 32nd,
qualified 12th)
“It was just a chain
reaction. I hate it for the
guys and the Northern Tool +
Equipment. We thought we
had a good truck; we
unloaded and came of the
truck and practiced here
pretty good. In race trim,
we couldn’t get a handle on
it. Unfortunately, the 59
(Terry Cook), was coming up
on, I think it was the 91,
and kind of crammed down a
little bit. It was no
body’s fault and but it got
the 59 a real loose and he
had to check-up and when he
checked-up we were right
there and just happened to
get in the back of him.
It’s a bad break for us and
them and everybody
involved. I hate it for
everybody”
ERIK DARNELL – No. 99
Northern Tool + Equipment
Ford F-150 – (involved in
accident on lap 94) –
(finished 29th,
qualified 6th)
“Our Northern Tool +
Equipment Ford F-150 was
really good and we were
looking for a strong run
here at the Built Ford Tough
225. John Quinn (crew
chief) and all the guys did
a great job getting the
truck adjusted to where it
needed to be. We were able
to drive up through the
field there and got up to
third. I had just gotten to
third and was going through
turns three and four when
the truck wiggled real bad.
I radioed the crew chief and
told him that I thought I
had a tire going down. By
the time I made it into turn
one, the left rear tire blew
out and I hit the wall.
It’s unfortunate.”
JON WOOD – No. 21 Bubba
Burgers Ford F-150 –
(finished 6th,
qualified 30th)
– “It was a decent night.
Everybody did what they were
supposed to do. I think we
started the race a little
too loose, but it’s just me
not knowing a lot of truck
racing, I guess. We
overcame a lot. John Monson
(crew chief) made a lot of
great calls on the pit box.
We had good pit stops, so it
was a pretty decent night.”
DAVID STARR – No. 10
International MaxxForce
Diesel Ford F-150 –
(finished 12th,
qualified 18th)
– “I thought we were better
than that. Our
International MaxxForce
Diesel Ford F-150 wasn’t
bad. It wasn’t what we
wanted. I thought in
practice and everything we’d
be in the top-10 close to
the top-5. We kept working
on the truck on pit stops.
We were getting behind
coming off pit road; and it
was hard to recover the
track position and lost a
couple of spots and almost
spun in the middle of one
and two and lost a couple of
spots, then gained a couple
back. That kind of killed
our momentum. It wasn’t a
bad day for Circle Bar
Racing. We’re getting there;
we’re getting better. This
finish is not what we
wanted. We wanted to be in
the top-10 or top-5. The
truck is in one piece, so
we’ll go to the next race
and keep digging.”
JACK SMITH – No. 63 Dave
Porter Truck Sales Ford
F-150 – (finished 27th,
qualified 33rd)
– “We had a broken fuel
pump, so we just kept
compensating. We don’t have
the technology to build
trucks like the other
teams. We have to do things
the old-fashioned way. We
got close there. We weren’t
getting down on the nose
fast enough like everybody
else. I watched Mike
Skinner and those guys and
they’re down in the corners
way before we are. I drive
off in the corner and plow
the nose. The more we freed
it up in the back; we didn’t
need to be working in the
back. We had the fuel pump
go bad. We were running
having fun in the draft and
we were the next one on the
Lucky Dog and Mike (Mittler)
said, ‘Don’t go back up
there.’ He wanted to come
home with a truck that
wasn’t banged up. I wanted
to get back up there and mix
in with the other drivers.
It’s a shame, because I know
I can run with those guys.
I’ll be there one day,
you’ll see.”
