Race/Date: Easy Care
Vehicle Service Contracts
200 – Oct. 27, 2007
Location: Atlanta Motor
Speedway – Atlanta, Ga.
NOTES:
· This week’s race truck
for Atlanta Motor Speedway
is Chassis No. 5-112. Mike
Skinner drove this truck
earlier in the year at
Gateway International
Raceway near St. Louis, but
the No. 5 team has made a
number of changes to it in
preparation for the race
this weekend.
Stats… Skinner leads the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series in a number of
categories. He has the top
marks in Driver Rating
(117.9), Average Running
Position (5.542), Laps in
the Top 15 (3,247 of 3,506)
and Laps Led (1,036 laps,
1122.61 miles). · Double
Duty… Not only will Skinner
attempt to lengthen his
points lead in NCTS race
this weekend, but he will
also attempt to qualify for
the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series
race. Skinner will drive the
No. 36 Toyota Camry.
· Atlanta Stats… Skinner
won both the pole and the
race when he visited this
track in March. He has an
average starting position of
second in six career NCTS
starts at the 1.5-mile
track.
· Pole Record… Skinner
will try to capture his 42nd
career NCTS pole and tie his
season record of 10 poles in
a single season, which he
set in 1995.
Fighting to Stay on Top…
Skinner reclaimed the points
lead from Ron Hornaday Jr.
this past weekend when he
won the Kroger 200 at
Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.
Skinner will attempt to
extend his 11-point lead,
the closest battle ever in
NCTS. Toyota… As the only
driver to compete in a
Toyota in all 96 races the
manufacturer has been
involved in NCTS racing
(2004 to present), Skinner
was the appropriate driver
to lock up Toyota’s second
consecutive Manufacturer’s
Championship. He clinched
the title when he won last
weekend in Martinsville.
Listen and watch … The Easy
Care Vehicle Service
Contracts 200 is scheduled
to start at 1:00 p.m. ET
Saturday, Oct. 27. It will
