Foretravel Motorcoach team heads home to
Texas
Mark Green and the ML
Motorsports - Foretravel Motorcoach team
have stepped up their NASCAR Nationwide
program since the visit to Bristol Motor
Speedway in March. The team came away
from Bristol with a 24th place finish
and followed that up a week later with a
26th at Nashville SuperSpeedway.
With a renewed vigor
and interim crew chief Brian Ross, the
team is very optimistic about success at
Texas Motor Speedway on April 5.
In it’s third season
in the NASCAR Nationwide series, team 70
has had it share of struggles as do all
part time single car teams. Recognizing
those struggles they searched in 2006
for a more experienced driver in hopes
of getting the set up ‘right’, the
driver they found was Mark Green, one of
the Green brothers of Owensboro, Ky.
Mark is a good fit for
a part time team as he works full time
for Michael Waltrip Racing where he is a
test driver and Michael’s race day
spotter. Mark’s experience and
background has proven a boon to the
Foretravel Motorcoach team as the
improvement continue on a steady track.
ML Motorsports was
founded in 1998 by Mary Louise Miller
and Stephany Mullen, her daughter, with
a shop in Warsaw, In. The team began
racing in the Arca Remax series in 1999
and continued with that series until mid
2006 when they moved up to the Nascar
Nationwide (Busch) Series.
The first driver for
the team in 1999 in the Arca series was
Brian Ross who returned to the series
full time in 2000 to capture Rookie of
the year honors.
The team has had the
support of two long time sponsors,
Biomet, founder by Dane Miller (Mary
Louise’s husband) and Foretravel
Motorcoach of Nacogdoches, TX . Last
November Foretravel and their owner’s
club, the Foretravel Motorcade joined
the team at Texas Motor Speedway for the
O’Reilly Challenge on November 3.
The club’s Texas
Grandvention was held at the Speedway
prior to race weekend and member stayed
over to join the team and driver Mark
Green for the racing action.
Returning to TMS this
week, the team has prepared a car for
this track which both Mark and Brian
agree promises to be a very good and
fast car. Mark is very comfortable
having Brian atop the pit box and
expressed confidence in both Brian’s
skills and the ability of the two to
communicate well.
Both have credited
that level of communication with the
strides they have made so far in 2008
which has been reflected in the last two
performances. The outlook for Texas is
favorable for a top 20 or even a top 15
finish, which excites the team as they
bring the action to Foretravel’s home
area.
