Johnny Benson held off Ron Hornaday in a two-lap shootout and win the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Power Stroke Diesel 200 on Friday night at O’Reilly Raceway Park.

This was his second straight win and third in the past four races.

Hornaday had led and dominated most of the race until lap 162. Benson was able to get around him and survive four caution flags. Benson pulled away by .484 seconds in the final laps.

“I spent a lot of time, a lot of time, behind him. But it gave me an opportunity to see what he was doing, where his weak spots were, where his strong spots were.” Benson said.

Erik Darnell finished third, Matt Crafton fourth and Shelby Howard finished fifth.

Benson holds a 15-point lead over Hornaday in the series standings.
