Hamlin
wins at Kansas |

Hamlin held off
Nationwide Series points
leader Clint Bowyer to
win the Kansas Lottery
300 at Kansas Speedway
on Saturday. Hamlin led
99 laps en route to his
fourth Nationwide Series
victory of the season
and ninth in his career.
“Our car was not so
great at the beginning,
probably a mid top-10
car for the first 75
laps, then we had one
adjustment and the car
really took off.” Hamlin
said.
This win gave Joe
Gibbs Racing a total of
17 victories this
season. “Since we took
the magnets off the gas
pedal we can really push
the accelerator down
now.” Hamlin said.
Also this win allowed
Toyota to clinch its
first NNS manufacturer's
championship in its
second year in series
competition. “It was a
great transition over to
Toyota. They made it
easy for us to change to
them. They've done such
a great job with the
support for our race
teams over on the Cup
side and the Nationwide
side. I've enjoyed the
partnership that we've
had with Toyota.” Hamlin
said.
David Ragan finished
third, Carl Edwards
fourth and Matt Kenseth
finished fifth.
Bowyer increased his
points lead to 196
points over Edwards in
the series standings.
Kyle Busch had
another bad day. He had
a loose lug nut and was
coming back into the
pits on lap 153 when
Mike Bliss hit him from
behind sending him into
the wall. “I had a lug
nut come loose and got
run over by the 1.”
