Kyle Busch's victory in
Friday's NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series (NCTS) race at
Atlanta Motor Speedway is
the 41st win for Toyota in
the series since the start
of the 2004 season (103
races). Busch led five times
for 39 laps for his
eighth-career NCTS win
(second in a Toyota) in 39
series starts. Busch has
three victories in five NCTS
races at the 1.5-mile
Georgia oval. Mike Skinner
(third), Ted Musgrave
(seventh), Terry Cook
(eighth) and Todd Bodine
(ninth) also scored top-10
finishes for Toyota. Other
Tundra drivers in the field
included Justin Marks
(14th), Phillip McGilton
(16th), David Starr (21st)
and Johnny Benson (30th)

How surprised that you were
the only one on pit road
when the caution fell with
18 laps to go? "I was
surprised that nobody
followed me, and Ron (Hornaday)
didn't come down. Normally,
you do what the leader does,
but I think Richie (Waters,
crew chief) made a great
call coming down pit road
for those four tires. I have
to thank Miccosukee for
coming on board this week.
We're trying to get Billy
Ballew a major sponsor -- so
if you really want to help
out, we'll take it. The guys
on pit road did a great job
tonight. We had the hood up
on the truck. We had the
track bar down eight rounds.
We had four rounds in the
left rear. I don't even know
what else we did." Can you
talk about the children you
had watching you tonight?
"The Kyle Busch Foundation
and M&Ms donated tickets to
tonight's race to some kids
so they could come out and
watch us race. I'm glad we
were able to win it for
them. I dedicate it to them.
They were a lot of fun to
hang out with on Thursday,
when we were able to visit
and hang out with them. That
is what makes it happen for
me." How were you able to
get the truck to stick down
on the apron for a few of
your moves? "There were a
couple of apron shots, but
you have to go where they're
not. I went down there and
it stuck. I tried to make a
move on the apron in turn
three, but that was a little
stupid. I'm glad the 6 truck
(Colin Braun) ended up being
all right. I'm not sure if
he had problems or not, but
all of a sudden I just had
nowhere to go. I either was
going to run into the back
of him or go low, so I tried
going low but edged up on
him a little bit and turn
him sideways."

much did you have to work on
the truck to get the finish
you did? "It was an eventful
race. The truck drove really
bad in qualifying. We
started pretty far back, for
this team. We just weren't
that good. Our truck was a
bottom-feeder -- it couldn't
run up high at all. Whenever
I got around other trucks,
we were just aerodynamically
off. This is the first time
we ran this truck. AJ (Allmendinger)
actually drove this truck in
Loudon (N.H.) a year ago. We
brought it back from the
dead and tested it here --
and thought it was pretty
good. When he (Kyle Busch)
came down pit road -- I said
that just won him the race
right there. We didn't have
radar in our pits, but I bet
we have radar next time."
