PHOENIX (April 14, 2008)
— Kevin Harvick and the No.
33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI)
Camping World Chevrolet
recorded their fourth
top-five Nationwide Series
finish of the season under
the lights during Friday
night’s Bashas’ Supermarkets
200 at Phoenix International
Raceway. The fourth-place
finish for Harvick moved the
team to third place in the
Nationwide Series Owner’s
Point standings.
“I was really pleased
with the car and the
performance that we put in,”
said Harvick. “We have to
continue to work on the
small things, but overall I
can see progress each and
every week. The small things
will take us from running in
the top five to victory
lane.”
Starting the race fifth,
Harvick quickly set his eyes
on the top position, moving
to third place by lap 11.
Under the first caution of
the evening on lap 33, the
team made minor adjustments
and gained a position
exiting pit road. Running in
the second position, Harvick
continued to clock some of
the fastest laps of the day.
After loose lug nuts
slowed the pit stop on lap
69, Harvick restarted the
race from the eighth spot,
his lowest position of the
night. Quickly moving back
in to the top five, Harvick
again was running with the
leaders and looking to
advance to the lead. With a
fast car and good, solid pit
stops, Harvick maintained
his position in the top
five, even after several
late cautions came out in
the race. The race concluded
with one attempt at a
green-white-checkered and
Harvick was able to end the
day with a fourth-place
finish for the Camping World
team.
