LEFFLER ON RICHMOND
INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY:
“Like Bristol, Richmond
will keep you on your toes
all night. The configuration
of the track is awesome
because it’s got a short
track feel but it has enough
speed that it has speedway
characteristics. It is
different than Bristol
though in that aerodynamics
play a larger role. You need
to keep the fenders on the
car in order to get a good
finish because the cars are
a little bit more aero
sensitive, even at a
short-track like Richmond.
There are always two grooves
of racing so there’s a lot
of side-by-side beating and
banging which is fun as a
driver and exciting for the
fans. Because it such a
small track, you can see and
hear the fans even when you
are in the car and it’s cool
to have a coliseum type
atmosphere! This Great Clips
team has been extremely
successful on the short
tracks over the last couple
of years and we expect more
of the same this weekend.
Richmond has been one of our
strongest tracks and this
time around we’re looking to
bring home the win!”
