SONOMA,
Calif. (July 15,
2008) — Infineon
Raceway celebrates
its 40th anniversary
during the 2008
motor-racing season,
and you can taste a
little bit of the
history.
The raceway
will be selling a
limited-edition wine
set that
commemorates the
past 40 years of
racing in the Sonoma
Valley, with a
portion of the
proceeds benefiting
Speedway Children’s
Charities, the
charitable arm of
Infineon Raceway.
Race fans
will be able to
order the wine at
the upcoming FRAM
Autolite NHRA
Nationals, July
25-27, at the
raceway’s Ticket Pit
Stop, located in the
main paddock.
One of the
bottles in the set
features an historic
drag-racing image
from a 1970s event
at then-Sears Point
Raceway. Cost for
the two-bottle set
is $95 — you can
also purchase by
visiting:
www.highway12winery.com/anniversaryrelease.
The wine
chosen for this set
is extremely
special, featuring a
Sonoma Valley
Bordeaux blend from
Generations of
Sonoma’s Highway 12
Estate Vineyards and
Winery, in
partnership with
Serres Ranch owner,
John Serres.
The set also
features
beautifully-designed
commemorative
labels, one boasting
sports cars cresting
legendary Turn 2
during a 1970s
event, while the
other label
highlights the
dragster. Both
bottles feature the
distinctive Infineon
Raceway 40th
anniversary logo.
A limited
number of cases will
be produced for this
commemorative
two-bottle set — it
is the perfect wine
for this major
milestone in the
long history of
Infineon Raceway.
