DENNY HAMLIN, No. 18 Farm
Bureau Insurance Toyota
Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Finished: 4th How was your
run this evening? "I think
we had a pretty decent run.
We didn't have anything for
Clint (Bowyer), by far. We
had a second-place car or a
third- place car most of the
day, just couldn't quite get
the car turning quite good
enough in the middle to hang
with those guys. If we did,
we just got too loose off.
Balance wasn't too bad all
day. It was a good run for
the whole Farm Bureau team
and it's definitely good to
be back with these guys. We
didn't exactly practice in
the conditions in which we
raced in. So, it's kind of a
tough deal going back from
one to the other."
How do you feel after run
650 laps here at Richmond?
"I feel alright. I feel like
I just ran a Cup race,
really. I feel a lot better
than what I figured I would.
It's a lot. I'm glad the
fans got to see at least two
full races instead of a
washout like it would have
been."
JOEY LOGANO, No. 20
GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe
Gibbs Racing Finished: 7th
How was your race car
tonight? "We started off
decent and then the brakes
started pulsating. I got
really loose into the corner
and we tried to fix that.
Then that would make me
tight in the center -- that
would make me loose off. We
fixed that. At the end it
wasn't that bad we were just
slow and I don't know why.
Besides that, we had good
pit stops. We gained spots
every time we came in so
that was good."
How much did this track
change from day to night?
"It didn't feel like a whole
bunch. I was surprised that
we didn't move up that much
-- I was expecting the lanes
to go up a lot like the Cup
race. I think it's just
something with these cars,
they don't want to go up
there I don't think. I
finished seventh so I guess
I have to take it for now."
GREG ZIPADELLI, Crew
Chief, No. 20 GameStop
Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs
Racing What was it like to
work with Joey Logano during
race conditions for the
first time? "It went
alright. It was hard because
we lost radios somewhere
around 100 laps into it -- I
couldn't hear a word he was
saying. We fought loose all
night getting in the corner
and had a really bad brake
vibration. We weren't going
to be able to fix that so we
just tightened the car up
and got it to where it was
halfway decent."
How was it different to
work with Joey Logano at a
race versus a test session?
"I'm just helping out
because of the situation
that our Nationwide guys are
in and it gives me an
opportunity to hear and make
some adjustments on the car
and see how sensitive he is
to adjustments and stuff. It
might give us a little bit
of a head start on next
year. It's a learning curve
and we are just trying to
accelerate it as fast as we
can."
