Ford Charlotte Nationwide
Post-Race Quotes
BOBBY HAMILTON JR. – No.
25 Curly’s BBQ Ford Fusion
(Finished 37th) – “The 19
and the 30 got together and
were spinning and I guess
the 27 couldn’t stop in time
and he just jacked me up and
finished me off and turned
me head on. It wasn’t the
fault of the 27, it was just
a racing deal. We actually
came up through there. The
car was awesome. I know
everybody says that right
when they wreck, but we were
actually doing pretty good,
but you can’t control that.
This place is so fast. We
were running pretty near
wide open through three and
four and almost one and two
up top, and I couldn’t even
get mad at the 27 because I
guarantee he didn’t have
enough time to stop. That’s
just part of it, so we’ll
load up and go to Memphis.”
JASON KELLER – No. 27
Kleenex Ford Fusion
(Finished 29th) – “It sure
looked like the 19 and one
of the other cars up there
got turned around. It was a
handful tonight. We just
really missed it a little
bit with this Kleenex Ford,
but that’s why we did this
thing in 2008, to go ahead
and get a little jump on
2009 and know what we need
to work on. It was just a
chain reaction. I thought I
had it missed and then it
looked like the car was
gonna swing back up on the
race track and the 25 caught
me there. It’s just hard
racing.”
CARL EDWARDS – No. 60
Scotts Ford Fusion (Finished
5th) – “If you folks are
gonna fertilize your lawns
this fall, use some Scotts
Wintergard. They’ve been a
good sponsor. I appreciate
everybody sticking around so
late tonight for the race
and waiting out the rain.
That’s real cool for the
fans to be here. I just wish
we could have had more for
him. I thought we had a lot
better car than that, but
that 18 car – that was in a
different league. We were
just kind of watching that.”
ARE YOU SATISIFIED WITH THAT
FINISH? “Clint and those
guys had the save of the
year right there. I was
getting real excited. I
thought they were gonna keep
running like they were, but
they did a good job and they
came back. My guys did a
good job too with this
Scotts Wintergard Fusion. I
don’t think anybody had
anything for Kyle. That one
time I got behind him and
ran second and he took off
and I couldn’t see him
anymore. I did have a good
time tonight. I’m real
excited about tomorrow
night’s race. I appreciate
everybody sticking with us
through the rain and
everything. It’s cool we got
all 200 laps in.”
KELLY BIRES – No. 47
Samaritan’s Feet Ford Fusion
(Finished 7th) – “It was a
good, solid night. We had a
better car than a
seventh-place car. We lost
some track position in the
pits on our first stop and
everything is so tight here
and everyone is so close
that it took us all night to
get back to where we
basically were when we lost
that position. So it was a
solid night and we’ll take
seventh place.” WHAT ABOUT
THE RESTARTS AT THE END?
“They were slow. I don’t
know what was going on up
there, but we were just
trying to keep our car in
one piece. I’m not sure what
was going on and who was
checking up or what was
happening up there, but I
was just more or less
concentrating on keeping the
nose clean.”
MARCOS AMBROSE – No. 59
Kingsford Charcoal Ford
Fusion (Finished 15th) – “We
had a really good night
going, but we just got
caught up there at the end.
I don’t know what was
happening on those restarts
and who was leading, but
they were a mess. Two or
three times everyone was
getting bunched up and
people were pulling out of
line and just one time too
many I got caught up there
and did some damage. But we
were looking good for a
solid night. We missed it
just a little bit on the
front setup there. We
started hitting both
springs, but, in general it
was a big step forward. I
really enjoyed the race. It
was a lot of fun and we
raced well all night.”
