Online automotive auction service Copart will sponsor Carl Edwards in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2010, the team announced Friday at the Auto Club Speedway.
Copart will appear on the No. 60 Ford as a primary sponsor for 16 races, and according to owner Jack Roush, Fastenal will take primary sponsorship for another 15 races.
“I'm really excited about this,” Edwards said. “I've done business with Copart. My father and I used to buy salvaged vehicles...I drove one of the vehicles 60,000 miles. I think that vehicle cost me $550 or something like that.”
Roush also said he expects Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to run a full-time schedule in the Nationwide Series next season as part of a three-car full-time effort for Roush Fenway Racing.
According to Copart representatives, the sponsorship is about expanding their brand awareness.
“It's about allowing NASCAR fans to come in, be aware of who we are, what we have, what product we've got available and allowing them to bid on that product in a real time internet experience,” said Jay Adair, president of Copart.
