Colin Braun on the pole for the Mountain Dew 250 fueled by Fred’s
by Larry Taylor

Posted on 10/31/2009

Overcast and threatening skies hung low over the Talladega Superspeedway but the track remained dry and qualifying went off on schedule Friday afternoon for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Colin Braun, driver of the No. 6 Con-way Freight/TrueLTL.com Ford went out fourth on the grid and put up a time no one could match. Point’s leader and driver of the No. 33 Copart Chevrolet, Ron Hornaday, could only muster a 13th place position on the starting grid for Saturday afternoon’s race.
Father-daughter combination Mike and Chrissy Wallace qualified 33rd and 27th respectively, with daughter Chrissy starting six spots better than Father Mike for NASCAR’s first father-daughter combination to start a race.
The NASCAR Camping World Series Mountain Dew 250 fueled by Fred’s goes green Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:00 p.m. EDT.
