--Ward, Ferguson Assume Interim Crew Chief Duties for Gaughan and No. 62 Team--
MOORESVILLE, NC (September 14, 2009)--Officials of Rusty Wallace Racing announced today that effective immediately, the team's Director of Competition, Wes Ward and Lead Engineer, Dale Ferguson, will assume interim co-crew chief duties for RWR's No. 62 entry and driver, Brendan Gaughan. They replace Brian Berry at the helm of the No. 62 team.
Stated team owner, Rusty Wallace, "This was a hard decision for us to make. Brian (Berry)'s a good person and a good crew chief. There are just times when the communication between a driver and crew chief doesn't work out quite right and this was one of them. We're in a performance-based business and we owe it to our sponsors and our team to do everything we can to improve our level of performance. I'm confident that Wes (Ward) and Dale (Ferguson) will do a great job while we evaluate our options going forward."
