Ricky Carmichael

No. 4 Monster Energy Chevrolet Silverado Team Race Preview

NASCAR Truck Series Race 23 of 25 — Texas Motor Speedway

RETURN TO THE LONE STAR STATE: Ricky Carmichael will return to Texas Motor Speedway for the second time in 2009. On his first trip to the 1.5-mile track, Carmichael started eighth and finished 11th. The run marked Carmichael’s second highest finish of the season. The No. 4 Monster Energy team has experienced success at the 1.5-mile tracks this season finishing fourth at Lowe’s (N.C.) Motor Speedway with NASCAR Sprint Cup star Ryan Newman and Carmichael went on from Texas to finish a career high of seventh at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway.

BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER RICKY CARMICHAEL:

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON RETURNING TO TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY?

“I’m ready to go back to a venue that our team has been at before. I have had quite a bit of success at the 1.5-mile tracks this season and I’m ready to go back to one of the venues where we ran really well at. I hope to be able to get to victory lane for the No. 4 Monster Energy team. They’ve done a great job all season and we would love to put a tally in the win column.”

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 4 Monster Energy team will take chassis No.028 to Texas Motor Speedway. The last time chassis No. 028 was in competition was at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This chassis has run six times in 2009 including races at Auto Club Speedway and Kentucky Motor Speedway where Carmichael earned his two career best Truck Series finishes of eighth at Auto Club Speedway and seventh at Kentucky Motor Speedway.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Last week at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway Ricky Carmichael and the No. 4 Monster Energy team were running in the top 15 when they were caught up in the “big one” at Talladega Superspeedway with only three laps remaining. Carmichael sustained heavy rear-end damage and was not able to complete the extended 98-lap event, finishing in the 20th position.
