NOTES:

· This Week’s Caterpillar Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway … Jeff Burton will pilot chassis No. 289 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable. This is a brand new Caterpillar Chevrolet Impala SS that will be put through its first paces this weekend.

· Texas Minutes … In 17 Sprint Cup Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway, Burton boasts two wins, three top-five and eight top-10 finishes. He owns a 26.2 average starting position to go along with a respectable 15.6 average finishing position and has not finished outside the top 13 in the last five events held at the 1.5-mile oval. The 2007 Samsung 500 winner has been running at the end of all the events held at the Fort Worth facility with the lone exception being the spring event in 2002. During that time, Burton has completed 96.2 percent of the total laps and has led 146 laps of competition.

· Baby Berrier News … Newly-appointed crew chief Todd Berrier and his wife Ginger welcomed newborn Spencer to their family on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Baby Berrier weighed in at seven pounds and three ounces. Big brother Cooper and his parents are doing great.

· These Boots Were Made for Winning … Burton won the inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race held at TMS on April 6, 1997, crossing the finish line four seconds ahead of Dale Jarrett. He also became the race track’s first repeat winner when he captured the checkers on April 15, 2007, claiming his 20th career series win after passing Matt Kenseth on the final lap.

· Texas Two Step … In addition to his driving duties with the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet, Burton, a 27-time race winner in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, will drive RCR’s No. 29 Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express Chevrolet in the O’Reilly Challenge on Saturday, Nov. 7. The race will air live on ESPN2 beginning at 12 Noon Eastern Standard Time and will also be broadcast worldwide on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

· RCR at Texas … In 47 starts at TMS dating back to 1997, RCR has recorded one win, five top-five and 17 top-10 finishes with drivers Burton, Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Green. Prior to TMS’s inaugural season, Childress, a former driver in NASCAR’s top division, earned a pair of top 10s while he was still behind the wheel at the now defunct Texas World Speedway in College Station.

· The Collective RCR … In 33 races this season, RCR’s four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entries have notched 10 top-five and 32 top-10 finishes. The No. 29 team kicked off the 2009 season with a win in the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. RCR-prepared cars have also completed 37,457 laps with four different drivers including Burton, Bowyer, Harvick and Casey Mears. RCR teams have led 244 laps and all four teams have earned just shy of $19 million combined purse money in 2009.

· RC on Parade … Richard Childress was ranked fourth in the “Celebrities Who Give Big” article in the November 1, 2009 issue of Parade Magazine. Childress and his family donated $5 million in July 2008 to start the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. Other celebrities included the late Paul Newman, Brad Pitt and Angelia Joie, Mel Gibson, Oprah Winfrey, Oscar De La Hoya, Barbra Streisand and Leonardo DiCaprio.

· Meet the CAT Racing Pit Crew … The No. 31 over-the-wall crew will be signing autographs Sunday, Nov. 8 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Chevrolet display, located in the speedway’s midway.

· Take a Spin … When attending NASCAR races, you get to watch some great driving on the track. But, Chevrolet thinks consumers should get to feel the need for speed, too. On Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7, fans will have a rare opportunity to actually get behind the wheel of the coveted new Camaro for a test drive at Texas Motor Speedway. All participants will receive a Camaro t-shirt to commemorate the occasion. The Chevy Ride and Drive is located in the bus lot, located behind Hospitality Village off Allison Avenue between Highway 114 and Victory Circle, and is open to the public on Friday, Nov. 6 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Fans can pre-register and skip the lines! · Up to Speed … ABC’s live television coverage of the Dickies 500 from Texas Motor Speedway will begin Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2:30 p.m. EST. The event will also be broadcast live on PRN and Sirius XM Satellite Radio. Qualifying for the 34th points-paying race on the 36-race tour is scheduled to take the green flag on Friday, Nov. 6 at 4:30 p.m. EST and will be telecast live on SPEED. PRN and Sirius XM Satellite Radio will carry live qualifying updates.

JEFF BURTON QUOTES:

You have four top-10 finishes in your last five races at Texas. Does Texas fit your driving style?

“Texas has been a good race track for us lately but it has been an up-and-down place for us, too. It’s a demanding race track and is different from the other mile-and-a-half’s we go to. The corner entry is completely different and is rough. I like the race track, obviously, because I’ve won there twice but it hasn’t been fun at times, too.”

What are the keys to earning win No. 3 at Texas?

“The interesting thing about Texas is that every time we go there, it takes something different to get around the track. It’s unbelievable how the set-ups change from race to race there. I enjoying racing at Texas but it’s one of those places where it has been feast or famine for me. We’ve either done really well or really poorly. Obviously, the point of the year we are in right now, we need to do really well in order to come into 2010 with a bang. We just need to bring our homework to the table and be able to adjust the car to its liking. Texas is a really fun race track but it is difficult to conquer.”

Is this race going to be a test to see how far RCR has improved its intermediate program?

“I think it is. It will be big for everybody. What all the teams are doing now, with the exception of those in the championship hunt, is positioning themselves to be able to do an analysis of where they need to be better going into 2010. These final races are real important because it’s making the fabric of your race car and race team for next year. Decisions are being made on how you’re running now and the better you run, the more you feel you have under control. For that reason, it’s important for us to see what direction we are going to move in next year based on our results over these last few races.”
