“I really feel like we should have won the race at
Texas earlier this year but it just didn’t work out that way. We
always run well there and I’d like to go back this weekend and get the
win I think we should have had there in the spring. Right now all we
can do is go out there and focus on winning and finishing the highest we
can in the point standings. I think we’ve got a good chance at these
last three races and I’m looking forward to them.”
Erwin on Texas: “We had a really good run at Texas in the spring and
we’re taking the car that we finished third with in Kansas a few weeks
ago. We generally run well in Texas and I believe this weekend will be
no exception. The track suits Greg’s driving style and that always
helps. Texas allows for fast and exciting racing so it should be a good
show for the fans down there. Greg led 93 laps in the spring race and
we had a little problem in the pits that he was able to come back from
for a third-place finish. If we can avoid any little problems like
that, I don’t see why we can’t get this 3M Ford into victory lane.
Notes:
Following a fourth-place finish in Talladega, Biffle moved up to
seventh in the point standings.
Biffle led 93 laps before a lugnut issue kept him in the pits for
longer than usual. He restarted 11th after the stop late in the race
and picked up eight positions in the closing laps for a third-place
finish.
Biffle’s history at Texas goes from one extreme to another as he
has four top-10 finishes but he also has five finishes of 30th or worse
due to on-track incidents or part failures.
Fans can tune in to Biffle’s radio show “Straight Talk with the
Biff” on www.gregbiffle.com Monday nights at 9 p.m. to enter to win
two tickets to the 2010 Sprint Cup banquet in Las Vegas. More
