FOCUS ON PHOENIX: The one-mile Phoenix International Raceway featured a total of 11 top-10 finishes for Toyota drivers
across the three NASCAR events that took place at the Arizona oval over the weekend. Camry driver Kyle Busch almost clinched
the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) driver's championship at Phoenix and will win the title when he starts the season-finale
Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. A pair of third-place finishes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (Denny Hamlin) and
NNS (Reed Sorenson) events, and a runner -up result (Busch) in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race, also
highlighted the weekend for Toyota drivers.
FULL-SEASON FINALE: Michael Waltrip will take the checkered flag on his final full-season of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
(NSCS) competition on Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Waltrip started his NSCS career in 1985 and will have made 759
Cup starts when he takes the green flag in Homestead. During his career, Waltrip has accumulated four wins -- including a pair of
Daytona 500 victories -- 39 top-five and 127 top-10 finishes. The Owensboro, Ky.,-native plans to compete part-time in the NSCS
next season and focus on his efforts as team owner of Michael Waltrip Racing.
TOYOTA TALLY: Toyota drivers have competed in a total of 93 NASCAR races across all three national touring series in 2009,
accumulating 38 total victories this season. In 35 NSCS races, Camry drivers have recorded 10 wins (29 percent) and 10 poles (29
percent). In 34 NNS races, Camry drivers have accounted for 14 race wins (41 percent) and 13 poles (38 percent). In 24 NCWTS
races, Tundra drivers have registered 14 victories (58 percent) and eight poles (33 percent).
TRIPLE DIP: Busch will compete in all three NASCAR races during the final weekend of the 2009 season at Homestead-Miami
Speedway. Busch will attempt to secure the NCWTS owner's championship for the Billy Ballew Motorsports No. 51 Tundra on
Friday night. The 24-year-old driver will then climb behind the wheel of his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 Camry Saturday to earn the
NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) driver's championship -- his first NASCAR title and the first NNS driver's championship for
Toyota. Sunday's NSCS race will close out the 2009 season for Busch, where he has four wins and one pole.
RECORD-BREAKING BUSCH: Busch is no stranger to setting records and in this year's Nationwide Series he has continued to
make his mark. After 34 races this season, Busch has led a total of 2,625 laps -- a new Nationwide Series record. Busch registered
another record this season when he earned 10 consecutive top-two finishes. Busch also became the first driver to win two of
NASCAR's top-three national touring series races in the same day when he claimed checkered flags in both the NNS and NCWTS
events at Auto Club Speedway (Feb. 21). Busch also currently holds the record for the most race tracks where he has won in all
three series - California, Bristol, Chicagoland, Dover, New Hampshire and Phoenix.
TUNDRAS AT HOMESTEAD: Tundras have had a great deal of success in NCWTS competition at Homestead. Tundra drivers
have won three of the five NCWTS races at the track, including wins by Todd Bodine (2005 and 2008) and Johnny Benson (2007). In
addition, Tundra drivers have captured the pole position four times. Current Camry driver David Reutimann earned back-to-back
poles in 2004 and 2005, and Mike Skinner captured the pole position at Homestead in 2006 and 2008.
