NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 20 of 34 – Nashville Superspeedway

GOING FOR THE GIBSON: Elliott Sadler and the No. 2 OneMain Financial team will head to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend with the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the Federated Auto Parts 300. Sadler and the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team will unload at the 1.333-mile track for the second time this season and will attempt to score one of the famed Gibson Les Paul guitars awarded to the winner of the race.

DOUBLE DUTY: For the fifth time this season, Sadler will log time in both the Truck Series and Nationwide Series this weekend. Prior to the Nationwide Series race Saturday night, Sadler will strap into the No. 2 Bully Hill Vineyards Chevrolet Silverado. This season, Sadler has made four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts, with a best finish of second at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

150th NATIONWIDE SERIES START: Sadler will make his 150th NASCAR Nationwide Series start Saturday night at Nashville. The Emporia, Va., native has five wins, eight poles, 28 top-five and 51 top-10 finishes. Over the course of 14 seasons, Sadler has led 830 laps and competed at 33 different Nationwide Series tracks.

KHI IN THE MUSIC CITY: KHI has made 18 starts throughout the course of six seasons at Nashville Superspeedway. The organization has earned eight top-10 and four top-five finishes, along with one win earned by KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick in 2010.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The OneMain Financial team will bring chassis No. 062 to Nashville Superspeedway this week. The team has used this chassis several times in the wind tunnel and other testing sessions, but this will be the first time it will be on the track this season.

POINTS LEADER: After the event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Sadler remains the leader of the NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver’s Point standings. Reed Sorenson sits in the second position, seven points back, with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. following in third (-18) and Justin Allgaier in fourth (-41).

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Sadler and the No. 2 OneMain Financial team finished 12th after a hard-fought race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday. The team battled from the middle of the pack for most of the day, and pushed forward into the top-five, but got caught up in traffic and finished outside the top-10 after a wild green-white-checkered finish.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Elliott Sadler

How do you feel heading into this week’s race at Nashville Superspeedway?

“Nashville is one of my favorite places to go on the schedule. I loved when we raced at the old fairgrounds years ago. Now that we race at the new track, and I have one race under my belt there after competing there in April, I’m really looking forward to it. We want to go back there and run well to get a little redemption from the last time we were there. I’ll be competing in both the Truck Series and the Nationwide Series, so I will be able to log a lot of time on the track. It’s a night race, so it’s going to be a little bit different. We always have a lot of our friends come out that are involved in country music. It’s a fun place to go with great food, great music and hopefully great racing for the field and the No. 2 OneMain Financial team.”
