Iowa Speedway Announces Winner of 2011 Pace Car Giveaway

William Hicks from West Des Moines named new owner of Chevy Camaro SS red convertible

NEWTON, Iowa — Sept. 18, 2011 — Iowa Speedway season ticket holder William Hicks from West Des Moines, IA, is the proud new owner of a 2011 Camaro SS red convertible. Hicks was the lucky winner of Iowa Speedway’s pace car giveaway held on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Altoona, Iowa.

All 2011 season ticket holders were invited to attend the end-of-the-year celebration at Prairie Meadows and had to be present to win. NASCAR racing legend and Iowa Speedway co-owner Rusty Wallace drew 20 finalists’ names. Each finalist was given a CD — William could not believe he heard the sound of a revving engine when he pushed play!

“Thank you to all the fans who came out to the event at Prairie Meadows,” says Iowa Speedway President Jerry Jauron. “Season ticket holders helped make this another great year, and we were excited to see such a good turnout on Saturday to help celebrate the season.”

Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino is an official partner of Iowa Speedway and sponsored the Prairie Meadows 200 ARCA Series Race this past July.

“We are grateful for our continued partnership with Iowa Speedway and we’re excited they chose to have their season ticket holder appreciation event at our casino,” says Jeff Nelson, Prairie Meadows Director of Marketing. “Iowa Speedway really knows how to treat their fans and it was an honor to share the evening with them.”

Iowa Speedway’s fans were a major part of the excitement surrounding the 2011 race season. The track hosted four major race weekends, including two sold-out NASCAR Nationwide Series races. Fans also witnessed Ricky Stenhouse Jr. sweep the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Marco Andretti get his first win in five years during the IZOD IndyCar race.

The 2012 race schedule was also announced last night and season ticket information is available at www.iowaspeedway.com http://www.iowaspeedway.com/ .
