No. 31 Exide Batteries Chevrolet News and Notes

This Week’s Silverado… The No. 31 Exide Batteries team will bring chassis TMS-202 to Loudon for Saturday afternoon’s race.  TMS-202 last saw racing action at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis earlier in the 2011 NCWTS campaign. James Buescher led 98 laps en route to a runner-up finish.

Program Alert… Buescher will appear on SPEED’s famed “Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain” on Sunday, September 25th.   They will discuss his success during the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season as well as being a championship contender.

Battery Strong… Buescher and the No. 31 Turner Motorsports team will again sport the black and blue Exide Batteries colors on Saturday afternoon in New Hampshire.  This will be the Atlanta, Ga.-based company’s ninth appearance as the primary partner on the No. 31 Chevrolet during the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

Looking Back… Buescher had a strong run at the “Magic Mile” in 2010. The 21-year-old qualified his Turner Motorsports Chevrolet inside the top-five and was leading the field coming to the white flag before being passed on the backstretch by Kyle Busch.  He crossed the finish line in the second spot.

Consecutive Finishes… Buescher has been a roll since late April.  In the last 14 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races, Buescher has picked up 19 spots in the championship point standings and has an average finishing position of 6.21. He and the No. 31 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet team have accumulated eight top-five and 15 top-10 results in addition to a pole position during this stretch. Buescher has accumulated more top-five and top-10 results than anyone else in the NCWTS during the 2011 season.

Point Leader… After a top-15 finish last Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway, Buescher maintains the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point lead.  The Texas-native sits three markers ahead of second place Austin Dillon with seven races remaining on the 2011 schedule.

Watch and Listen… The F.W Web 175 can be seen live on Saturday, September 24th on SPEED.  Race coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. EST. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 90.

James Buescher on driving at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

“New Hampshire [Motor Speedway] is a great track.  We had a great run there last year in the No. 31 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet.  I thought we were going to get our first win, but the No. 18 truck passed us coming to the checkered flag.  We have made a lot of improvements to our short track program since last fall and I can’t wait to get on the track.  We are bringing the same truck that ran well at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis [LORI] and we are looking for the same kind of result. We just need to continue to focus on our program and having strong finishes each and every week.  All the guys on the No. 31 Exide Batteries team are putting in the hours to make our trucks fast and that first win is right around the corner.  I would love nothing more than to get it this weekend in New Hampshire.”
