SUCESSO EM JOGOS DE AZAR (GAMBLING ON SUCCESS): Nelson Piquet Jr. and the No. 8 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Coming off a fourth-place finish at Kentucky Speedway, the team has collected four top-five and five top-10 finishes at intermediate-style tracks this season. With odds in their favor, the Brazilian native and his crew are gambling that they will find success at the 1.5-mile Nevada facility.

LOOKING FOR LADY LUCK: During the past eight seasons, KHI has made 12 starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The company has earned one pole, two top-five and four top-10 finishes, and has been credited for leading 72 laps. Four-time Truck Series champion, Ron Hornaday captured KHI’s sole Las Vegas Truck Series pole back in 2008.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 8 team will utilize chassis No. 051 this weekend in Las Vegas. This chassis has been utilized five times thus far this season. Piquet Jr. first drove this chassis to a second-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway in April. The rookie driver has also used this chassis at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, Texas Motor Speedway in June, Pocono Raceway in August and drove to a third-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway in September. Most recently, Piquet Jr. earned a fourth-place finish on October 1 at Kentucky Speedway.

MOST POPULAR DRIVER: Voting is still open for the Truck Series Most Popular Driver. NASCAR fans can log onto www.nascar.com to cast their vote for Piquet Jr. as the 2011 Truck Series Most Popular Driver. Voting is underway and will continue until November 17. Fans can vote once daily until the end of the contest.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Piquet Jr. and the No. 8 team made their way back to Kentucky Speedway with the Truck Series for the Kentucky 225 on October 1. The young driver started the race from the third position and led a total of 40 laps before crossing the finish line fourth.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Nelson Piquet Jr.

What are your thoughts on racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway?

“I’m very excited to race at Las Vegas. I have learned a lot since the last time I’ve raced there, so I’m excited to see what myself and the team can achieve at the track. We have been picking up so much momentum as the season progresses, so I’m quite confident that we will be able to achieve big things in Las Vegas.”
