No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet News and Notes

  • This Week’s Silverado… The No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet Silverado team will bring chassis TMS-202 to the half-mile Martinsville Speedway for Saturday’s 200-lap event.  TMS-202 has been the team’s short track work horse during the 2011 campaign, seeing action at Martinsville Speedway, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, and New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
  • All I Do is Win… After a solid showing in last Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Talladega Superspeedway, James Buescher headed south to the “World Center of Speed” for the NARRA Series finale.  The 21-year-old started deep in the field but navigated his No. 33 Chevrolet Corvette to the race lead on the last lap in route to the victory.  This was Buescher’s first start in a NARRA Series machine.
  • Get to the Point(s)… Buescher and the No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet team are involved in one of the closest point battles in series history.  The Turner Motorsports team sits three markers behind point leader Austin Dillon with three races remaining on the 2011 schedule.
  • Stats Don’t Lie… According to NASCAR Statistical Services, James Buescher ranks in the top-three in a number of categories.  The 21-year-old has a driver rating of 99.8 which puts him second behind point leader Austin Dillon.  He has an average finish of 8.1 which leads the series statistics.  Buescher has completed 85 percent of the laps during the 2011 season inside the top-15, which ranks him third.
  • Tested and Approved… Buescher and the No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals team spent all day Tuesday at “Little Rock” testing their Chevrolet Silverado in preparation for this weekend’s 200-lap event at Martinsville Speedway.

James Buescher on driving at Martinsville Speedway

“Martinsville Speedway is a place where you beat and bang all day.  As a driver, you have to be defensive and take what you can get. You have to be patient and wait for your competitors to make a mistake and take advantage of it.  We need to make sure we keep the fenders on our Chevrolet all day and be there at the end to race for the win.”

“We tested ‘Little Rock’ on Tuesday working on our brake package as well as some front end geometry settings.  It went really well and I am confident we have a truck capable of running up front on Saturday afternoon in Martinsville.”
