No. 62 International Trucks/Monaco RVs Toyota Tundra News and Notes

. This Week’s Tundra. The No. 62 International Trucks/Monaco RVs team and Germain Racing driver Brendan Gaughan will utilize GR-016 in Friday’s 147-lap NCWTS race at Texas Motor Speedway.

. Familiar Faces. Gaughan last raced for International under the MaxxForce Engines brand in 2008. He scored a 15th- and 16th-place finish in the two Texas events that season. His best finish for International that season was third at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a sister track to Texas. Gaughan’s crew chief in 2008 was Bryan Berry, who also leads Gaughan’s efforts in the No. 62 Tundra at Germain Racing.

. Watch and Listen. The Longhorn 350 from Texas Motor Speedway will be broadcast live on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, on Friday night. SPEED kicks off its pre-race coverage at 7:30 p.m. EDT, and MRN Radio will begin its live broadcast at 7:45 p.m. EDT on Friday, November 4.

Brendan Gaughan on Texas Motor Speedway:

On Racing for International Trucks/Monaco RVs at Texas.

“I’m very excited to race for International Trucks/Monaco RVs in Texas this week. Texas Motor Speedway is a track I always look forward to and with the way our No. 62 Tundra team has been running, I am even more excited about our team’s chances Friday night.”

Gaughan is a Las Vegas native, for certain, but Texas is one of his family’s homesteads.

“Texas Motor Speedway is near one of my mother’s horse ranches. My family likes to be known as a bunch of cowboys, so it’s important for me to run well there. I think next to our hometown track in Las Vegas, Texas is the most important venue on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule to my dad.”

Gaughan is a 4-time winner at Texas and knows he’s driving for a team with 7 wins there.

“Texas feels different than any other race track because of the history there. It feels great to show up at Texas, knowing that we are capable of winning with our International Trucks/Monaco RVs Tundra. But, it’s a double-edged sword. If I have a bad race at Texas, it makes it that much worse.”

Texas Motor Speedway is Big Opportunity for Big Red Tundra, Bodine

Bodine, with two championships, is the reigning Truck Series champ

The Chemung, NY, native has 36 NASCAR victories, 21 in Trucks

Bodine has scored 6 of Germain Racing’s 7 victories at Texas Motor Speedway

Mooresville, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2011) – The Big Red Tundra has taken to the track twice this season, once with Germain Racing driver Brendan Gaughan behind the wheel at Texas Motor Speedway in June, and in July with Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine steering the No. 5 Big Red/International Trucks Tundra for Randy Moss Motorsports at Indianapolis Raceway Park. This weekend, Texas fans are in for another Big Red weekend as Bodine will race the Big Red Tundra on Friday night. Bodine has amassed six wins at Texas Motor Speedway as part of Germain Racing’s win count of seven at the Fort Worth track.

“We always feel like we can go win at Texas any time we race there,” said Bodine, whose first two Texas wins came in Fall races and the last four have been scored in June. “Big Red is based out of Texas, a win for them would obviously be, well, big!”

Bodine has raced at Texas Motor Speedway in 14 Truck Series events. He’s scored 6 wins, 10 top-five finishes, 10 top-ten finishes and one pole award. His average starting position is 10.5 and his average finish is 8.1. He has two DNFs, one this past June and one in June of 2005.

Watch Bodine in the No. 5 Big Red Tundra on SPEED on Friday, November 4th. Live race coverage begins with the NCWTS Setup at 7:30 PM Eastern followed by live racing at 8:00 PM. Not in front of a TV? Tune your radio to your local MRN affiliate. The Big Red Tundra will be on track Thursday for two practice sessions in the afternoon and qualifying at 8:10 PM Eastern. Friday’s race is the shorter of the two Texas Truck Series races. The event is 147 laps/220.5 miles.
